Do NOT use any of that engine oil flushing crap in your car. It damages more cars than it helps.

Imagine having a skin of gunk covering most things in the oiling system. Now imagine breaking that skin up, so it can stick together and form little *****. Imagine those ***** accumulating into larger ***** and blocking various oil passages. The skin does not hurt anything, as oil is free to flow past it. Once you break it up, it can cause serious damage.

ah too late already did it . Drained it and added fresh oil and drained again. Have you seen or know of any damage to a RX8 engine using flush ?

Tried this today and pulled out a little under 5 qts(4.5 L).

So when you say "lift one side up", do you have to lift both front and rear of the side off the ground? Or just the front corner? I just lifted the front corner.

i lifted the whole drivers side, and let it sit overnight. then pulled the plug and let it drain, while driver side still in air. dropped that side, then lifted the pass side, and let it sit overnight..

dont recall what i was trying to do or working on at the time. but it worked well. seems it got a lot of oil out of the oil coolers. just a guess.
