Complete Engine and transmission replacement removal together?
Hey guys thanks in advance for any advice on this
2004 RX8 automatic with bad compression 120k on clock.
I have purchased a complete Engine and transmission from a JDM reseller with documented good compression and 50k on it
I know manual says to drop subframe to remove out bottom but I want to keep the chassis rolling due to space while doing work. I understand you can remove just engine out of top side as well and read several posts on that.
question is...
Can I clear enough stuff out of the way radiator, fans, front clip etc to pull the engine and trans forward and out the front together?
I've searched high and low to see if this is possible before I waste time doing some disection on the front clip.
If this is possible I will certainly take pics and document process.

What Dannobre said.
You just have to get the car up high enough off the ground to allow the engine to clear the two cross members in front of the engine as the tail of the transmission droops down.
The link that OverSteerCowboy posted is good except for the part where you separate the engine and tranny before removal. In order to do them as a single unit, you'll also have to remove the rear two crossmembers, exhaust midpipe, power plant frame, and driveshaft.
