Question Coil popped out

My 8 is in the garage waiting for the warm, dry weather. I was gazing at it longingly in the garage the other day and I noticed one of the ignition coils appears to be disconnected. I can't really reach it and I have zero mechanical ability anyway.. I want to take it in for fluid changes before I run it in the spring. Will it be a problem for me to drive it any distance (to the dealer) with a coil unplugged? Or is this so simple/trivial I'll be banned for not trying to get it plugged back in?

Just plug it in. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and then plug the coil in, and then reconnect the battery.

Time to man up.

Thanks for the tough love.
Looks hard to get to so I might have to remove the air box. So paranoid of breaking something.. but as you say, gotta start somewhere.

Yeah not sure how/when it happened.. I took it for a spin around the neighborhood a week ago to prevent flat spots on the tires and it ran beautifully. Pics below.

Oh well, yeah it's just missing a 10mm nut.

Check and see if the stud is still on the bracket. Sometimes they break where they attach to the plate.

You can drill a hole where the stud used to be and use a bolt from and nut to hold the coil on

Turns out it was connected but not seated properly because the aftermarket wires weren't the right length. It's now properly seated but I hope it won't yank itself out.. or that it's not rubbing against anything too hot that will cause problems later on!

Good to know, thanks! It just seems that one is stretched pretty tight now.

Then it's not the right wire. You have the one labelled "2" going to the first coil, so already something is wonky. If the car runs well, then leave it, but ideally you would want to use the correct wires to connect each coil with its corresponding spark plug. Search for a diagram, there are many.
