ChrikMik's 05 WWP

Been lurking for a while figured I'd start a thread to introduce myself and car. Picked up an 05 WWP gt model in May of 2014 with 61,xxx miles on it. According to the carfax the 8 spent it's first two years of life as a company car. Who would have figured. As most it received a new motor at 27,xxx miles and retired it's company car life. At this point someone bought it and drove it until they traded it for a newer BMW and I stumbled across it at some random used car lot with mostly newer German cars. Well I bought it and it's all history from there. Here are some pics of the first few weeks.

It had an AEM intake on it and a racing beat header. I drove it like this for a few months then got tired of the wheels and decided to paint my wheels....yes I used a Home Depot rattle can however I gave the wheels a solid cleaning and wet sanding before I sprayed them. I used a lot of light coats and "baked" each coat on with a heat gun. The color I chose was rustoleum "antique brass metallic" and used a very light clear coat because I was going for more of a satin finish than high gloss. Came out alright in my opinion and I still get asked if I had them professionally sprayed.

:(

As fate would have it wet roads and bald dry-rotted tires does not equal traction. Rocked the bumper pretty hard, maybe 30mph, into a mile marker sign on an entrance ramp during a late fall rain storm. Had to pull the bumper off on the side of the highway and stuff it along with my muddy undertray and fender liners into my car (poor leather) and still had to go to class.

I ended up drilling and "stitching" the bumper with hella jdm fresh drift swag zip ties... and yes I hate myself for doing this too. At least I used white one though.

I was just thankful that all I ruined on the car was the front bumper and not the headlights or radiator for that matter.

Here's a picture with the white zip ties. I also added the rear window visor from an na miata...the adhesive couldn't stand up to the cold CT winters so I took it off...not sure if I liked it enough to put it back on though.

Also snagged a used header back turbo xs exhaust for $310.00 shipped. FTW.

Decided to do something about those shot tires and got a set of 225/45 18 Nitto neo-gens.

So that's how she sits for now. Next my plans are the Pettit racing tune up kit and then the tein street basis coilover kit...here's a shitty photoshopped teaser for anyone who might be reading this and a picture with my friends b6 a4. (we like shitty bumpers if you can't tell)
