Check Engine Light

I just recently bought an 05 rx8 with 81,000 miles. Ive been noticing a jerking in the vehicle when in first gear accelerating toward 3000rpm. Its only when the car is cold. Also the check engine light came on right after it was at its worst. Any suggestions?

Took it to auto zone to get coded and P0441 and P0442 showed up. The diagnosis said multiple things could be the reason:
P0441-EVAP control system incorrect purge
P0441-Canister Faulty
P0441-Purge valve solenoid faulty
P0441-Damaged/leaking EVAP hose
P0441-Faulty EVAP leak detection pump

P0442-EVAP control system leak detected- small leak
P0442-Faulty fuel cap
P0442-Canister Faulty
P0442-Purge valve solenoid faulty
P0442-Damaged/leaking EVAP hose
P0442-Faulty EVAP leak detection pump

P0441 - EVAP system incorrect purge flow - ON - 2 - EVAP system - C, R - Yes
P0442 - EVAP system leak detected (small leak)

so you has a leak somewhere. dunno what incorrect purge flow means, sorry.

DIY: Check hoses for leaks and exhaust system for leaks. Could also be the gas cap so check that as well.

Another option is to sea foam the car and look for white smoke coming out of the car in other places other than the exhaust tips.
