Can you quiet down an hks hi power with a resonator?

Hi, this is my first post but I have been reading the forum like crazy since I bought my car last week. I bought a slightly rough looking but good running 04 rx8 for $1600. I traded my stock exhaust for an hks hi power from a guy on Craigslist. The exhaust sounds great but it's too loud for my liking. I like a good exhaust not as much as the next guy but would love to quiet it down a little bit. I was wondering if adding a cheap resonator like a 12" vibrant to the midpipe would quiet it down a bit.

Thanks! I'm glad to be here

Get a BHR resonated midpipe. Sounds fantastic, and not ungodly loud.

Check summit racing for an auger type silencer, goes inside the pipe, $30.

Or do what the green man said. I needed a catted midpipe so that's why I went with the one I've got.

I looked into those internal resonators and while they are cheap they do not flow well at all. I'm not willing to drop the big bucks on a name brand midpipe so I think im going to buy he longest 3" vibrant I can find and weld it in. I looked under the car today and there should be just enough room for a narrow resonator. I don't know how much it will muffle the exhaust but I'm sure it will help.
