can I remove ABS to paint engine bay

So.. Engine bay is stripped aside from a few brake lines and the big bulky ABS module and cylinder thing, seeing videos of people painting I've noticed some like to keep this in, can I just remove it and stick it back in after im done painting or is it not that simple?

I wouldn't, bleeding ABS modules is a pain. I'm not sure about ours, but sometimes you need OBD tools to activate different valves for bleeding. I'd mask it off as best you can.

It's pretty easy to remove if you're motivated enough. I've replaced the ABS assembly (including the pump) 3 times now and put some rubber caps on the end of the brake line going into the ABS pump so fluid doesn't drip. To bleed the system after re-installing, I'd recommend getting a free trial of Forscan. You can activate the pump motor without turning the car on. You'll need to bleed brakes after reinstalling.

Definitely a time-consuming process though.
