can anyone identify this part?

Im not sure what this part is called and what the sensor or some type of elctrical component to the right of the image is and its inportance. Wondering if its critical or if i shouldnt worry to much about it.

Im talking about the black hose looking thing a mechanic said it was an air induction thing but hes not too sure what its exactly called how much it is or anything so im wondering whats the importance and theres a sensor or something on the right side of it and we dont know if its important and needs replacing because its housing is cracked

It's part of the intake. The right side part of it in the pic is the VFAD (variable fresh air duct), that opens based on load and RPM to provide a shorter intake route.

Soo on a scale of 1-10 how important is it? And would you happen to know how much they cost.

Not terribly important. Removing it all might have a very faint reduction in power under 4,500rpm...and that's about it.

No idea on cost, though probably cheap if you grab one from a part out thread on the forums here.
