NY Brand New here.. HOLA!

Just joined and wanted to introduce myself. Hello everyone!! I am not the proud owner of an RX 8 YET, but I am shopping around for one. I cannot pinpoint just one thing, but I am truly obsessed with this car so I figured I would join the forum. (Almost get as excited as I do when I see a Corvette lol.) Hopefully I'll be posting pictures of my baby soon.

Thank you. I will get to reading it. Im currently debating on a 2004 manual for 4000. It has a few dents and the power steering needs to be reset. I'm trying to get quotes and see if itll be worth buying a car so cheap if id only have to put the money id be saving right back into it and then some. I've seen threads to reset power steering yourself, but is it something I can take to a body shop and how much will it be roughly?

^ I haven't read anything in regards to a reset with the power steering, but more along the lines of cleaning and reconnecting the electrical fittings on the steering rack.

You should get a rotory compression test done before you purchase (it might save you thousands)

^ this, get a compression test and diagnostic if you can, i bought a 07 with 84000 miles and it had no CEL or anything, but within 2 weeks, i had misfires, a clogged/destroyed cat and need new ignition components, and if i had known about the problems, i'd have gotten the car a lot cheaper....

just make sure to do your research and use the search functions!!! so much knowledge is already on the board, just have to know how to find it!

Welcome to the club, first get a compression test no matter what. It's been said already, but it's that important.

If the steering is working but has a light you have to reset the light. Just by starting the car turning the steering wheel all the way right then left 2 times and turning the car off.

That's the only thing I can thing it might be from the description.
