I bought a 2004 plate. flat battery mate put jump lead on wrong terminals, lost radio a/c fans, cd ejects and enters but nothing else on console. Car starts fine all other electrics work, gone through fuses but cant find any blown. PLEASE HELP Thanks

 

Bad things happen when you do that. We can't really help you here, you need to get someone with knowledge in electrical troubleshooting and a schematic for an RX-8 to take a look at it.

yeh the windows work ??

 

it will accept the cds and eject but no fans a/c or radio no illumination ?? all other electrics work..

 

Re-check the room fuse. It is the fuse that covers most of the interior stuff you say doesn't work

The hazard lights work from the console.

 

Sounds like you blew up the head unit? The display is driven by it as well

I have not got correct size battery could this be the problem, it starts first time. Plus having trouble getting terminals tight. Would this stop the centre console from working. .

 

Get a battery that has a cold cranking amp (CCA) of 720 and on your positive terminal tape a red tape around the wire so you know that's a positive terminal I did this before to a pick up truck by mistake before and replace your terminal connectors to the battery if they aren't tightening well their probably just worn

 

If it starts and runs it's not the battery size. You could check the volts with car off around 12 and running 14.5volts. If they are right then it's not battery size at all.

 

Didja check both fuseboxes?

The underhood and the underdash?

Use a tester to check fuses, don't just go by 'lookage'.
