Hello to all! I just purchased my first RX8 a few weeks ago from another owner. He didn't take too good care of the car so I've come across several issues. First, I replaced the fuel injectors, throttle body, and MAFS. However the issue with car is whenever I start the vehicle it sputters and than gradually turns off within a minute or so.

Would I need to reprogram the CPU after all these changes in order to get things started again?

 

Did you happen to get a compression test before you bought the car? That's going to be the first thing anyone who owns one of these cars will tell you do to... I don't want to be a ney-sayer, but you may have just learned the hard way why it is recommended to be done before you purchase the car...

 

Do you have any more details on the car? Year, mileage? There is a warranty on the engine core, but it's not eternal.

 

2004 Mazda RX8 with 140K miles. Auto trans. I bought the car at $2900.

 

First thought is fuel pump. Is the tank full?

Other options are plugs and coils. Where are you in Florida? How old are the plugs coils and wires?
