Blackwell's Knockoff Turbo Build

I bought this car for $1500 as a project when I got laid off from the shipyard last summer. 2004 6spd. The guy I got it from couldn't get it started and thought the engine was toast. I towed it home put new plugs, new leading coils and a new starter in and it fired right up. Threw a set of tein coilovers in and it's been a fun weekend hot rod sort of car. It has 178000km (110 ish miles) its definitely an american car originally(New York?). I believe it came over around 08-09 when the dollar was par for a bit. Suspect its not the original motor but have no proof.

Got bored and wanted to push myself on a car build. Car needed a clutch so figured why not make it a major. I've owned 3 FC's and 2 FD's not a stranger to rotaries but mostly done bolt on stuff not full out fabricating on them. This is a not for looks shot at knocking off the Greddy style low mount just going off pictures on the internet. Like I said weekend fun car not about durability or reliability. Most parts are cheap ebay stuff, chinese T3/T4 internal wastegate turbo (because I didn't want to bother with external wastegate piping), homemade manifolds(1"-1/4 Sch 40 Mild Steel) and piping. And I got an Emanage Ultimate too for added 2006 era legitimacy.

Working on a bench/jackstands in the underground of my apartment building. Millermatic 215 w/0.30" wire 75/25 gas running on the parkade light circuit. Landlord is pretty rad.

Needs another weekend or two but it's almost there. Most of the pics are from dry fitting the turbo after I finished the manifold. Cell phone camera has seen better days hence the speckled effect on my photos.
Enjoy
