Big thanks to RX8 Club Forum

Hi my name is Steve, I own a company in London where we do Auto Electrics... Had an RX8 in for loss of power steering, read this excellant forum and found the answer. On initial inspection of the wiring under the airbox all looked in order, however, pull the main power feed connecter appart, on this one it was burnt out inside, changed it with an anderson connector, the job is a good one... Many Thanks to all.

Glad to see a shop taking advantage of the information.

I'm glad you got it sorted out. One of the causes of the corrosion to the power steering connectors is overflow from the coolant reserve bottle. The drain hose directs overflow directly down onto these connectors. Extending the hose will eliminate the issue.

Thanks to all for the comments, in this case the fault is the main lartge connector, melting internaly, we had a real problem seperating the plug, once we managed to pull it apart both side of the plug inside we effected by heat! To resolve this we went on good old eBay and purchased an anderson connector 50Amp cut of the old plug and replace it, now where back in business!

Scan-it Scope-it.... Dont poke and hope it!
