Anyone Here Like Plasti Dip?
Just finished dipping my '09 RX-8 to look like an SR-71 stealth plane, for more photos visit this page >> Stealth RX-71 | FourLogic Performance Vehicles
The simulated carbon fiber hood was hard to see in the photo above, for more photos visit this page >> Stealth RX-71 | FourLogic Performance Vehicles

I guess I wasn't thinking about it from the 'battle damage' perspective, and in that light yeah, it seems to be fairly accurate.
Not appealing to me, but then everyone has their own opinion. At least it's removable

This is the worst thing I have seen on and RX-8 in a long time and in no way brings back images of my child hood love of the Habu. Plastidip is a scourge.

the plasti dip looks good on some vehicles....yours looks decent, but i think with the curves the 8 has, i think a shiny paint with an extra shiny clear is the way to go...imo., but if you like it...then my friend thats all that matters.

Yes, the battle damage was intentional, the vehicle is supposed to have a weathered look. We decided to model it after the SR-71 since the front of that plane is extremely long and curvy, similar to this RX-8.

Weathered look was done by hand, both air brushed and hand painted. Look up Plasti Dip Removable Paint Specialists | FourLogic Performance Vehicles if you want a similar plasti dip job on your car.

I don't know if his intention was to impress forum members or to simply display work that he is obliviously proud of. Cars are an expression of personal taste, much like garments, tattoos or a haircut. What some may see as repulsive others may be truly inspired by it. I try not to jump in on the I don't like it band wagon. The one exception was the guy with the neon green wheels. I could not in good conscious let him go out in public looking like that. At any rate I commend him on something original. I think the "NO STEP" was a nice touch. As far as impressing people on this site, heh I hope people will aspire to something greater.

^ Exactly.
Everyone has different tastes, and posting what your tastes are in public will typically not meet with universal approval. As long as you understand that and have thick enough skin to not be bothered by it, thumbs up and keep doing what you do. If you can't deal with people disliking what you like, then keep your tastes to yourself.
(directed at everyone in general, not RX-71 )

Speaking of "thick skin", I hope it's been sprayed thick enough for easy removal. I had to remove the anarchy symbol from the hood of the truck I traded for my 8 that a friend had jokingly and hastily sprayed in a too-thin coat. It required nail polish remover and too much elbow grease.
