Air conditioning knob problem
Air conditioning **** problem
Hi,
My used 2004 rx8 came with the fan k.n.ob off the assembly as shown below.
The problem is I try to plug the kn.ob back in but the white tip as shown sinks into the assembly and won't allow the know to insert into it.
Does anyone know is this is normal? Does the white male sink in as soon as touched?
How can it be fixed? I can't change the fan speed.

Ok so no one seems to know how to fix it
However, I figured it out.
I will make it my first contribution to the forum and hopefully it can help someone with a similar problem.
I propped the cigarette lighter lid open and slid my hand right above it, attempting to palpate the actual structure. When I did, the structure felt somewhat loose. And when I attempted to fasten it with my non-dominant hand index and middle fingers the white male tip seemed to become more firm inside its enclosure. At that point I decided to attempt to fit the k.n.o.b and voila, it fit and has worked fine ever since.
I guess whatever holds the white male tip became loosened for some reason and it normally should not recede into the enclosure the way it was doing it.
Hope it helps!
