2nd Rx8 current progress
Well long story short, i wrecked my rx8 back in 2011 I have been through 2 cars since. A 2009 Mazdaspeed3 which was really an amazing car if you love FWD just couldn't get used to it. Secondly my 2006 BMW M3 Competition Pckg, honestly my favorite car thus far however i ended up selling it for future plans and wanting to get school paid off. Anyways i saw a great deal on a R title Rx8 and i decided to jump on it for the time being since i always did miss my Rx8 ( chapter never finished or none the less complete from my last one) Currently the car is for sure going to need some small body work and deff going for a full re-spray some time in the next two months once this ridiculous NEPA weather goes away!
Here is some pictures from when i bought it back in october...The car has come a long way since then..thankfully i was financially ready for it, i will try and get some pictures of current progress in tomorrow.

I've never seen that green before on an 8, not really a big fan. But nevertheless, welcome back. I had a 3 series before not an m3 but hard to let go of a bimmer for sure. Loved everything except the maintanence ....

Was a custom paint job on that one haha, eh some people loved it some people didn't to each their own i guess. Thank you and yea M3 was one hell of a machine I can deff see myself getting another later on, tbh It was of all the cars i had the one that needed the Least maintenance of all. Oil is pricey about $14.75 a quart Seriously! but overall nothing ever broke on me or went bad. At 67k she ran like new.

Guys sorry its been a while been working on a project, I will be making updates to my build thread on here as well as on my blog on my website go check it out lmk what you think! Personal Build dailybuild.us/personal-build
Here are some updates though
The previous owner never really reported a statement and insurance never provided one. Rear driver quarter panel had damage above wheel, small dents here and there, definitely due for a complete repaint. Previous owner seemed to not really follow maintenance or care for the car the way it was intended to be. Car seemed to have had paint work done and not properly either, front half didn't match rear half.Interior was cloth (not my favorite) and seemed to be owned by a smoker (basing this on the small cig burns and smell on cloth).
The next surprise came to the headliner, it showed multiple grease stains not sure what from or how they got there. Not a big deal had a great upholstery shop back at home that knew would get it out without further damage to it. The front end had very minimal damage only showing on the reinforcement bracket which was an easy fix, no damage to fenders or hood, and none to headlights thank god.
While I was waiting for parts to come in the mail this week and the headliner to return I began my thorough inspection of the car. Decided to remove some body panels for better view and room. Here it is with the rear tail lights out and bumper removed.
WHAT I FOUND..
I noticed that the driver side rear wheel was laying in a weird angle with the top end sticking out and the bottom more towards the inside. First i thought maybe the strut had been damaged from impact to the wheel and quarter panel. Once i removed the wheel I found that my theory was correct, the strut was bent at least a 30 degree angle. Luckily there was no damage to frame. Frame on the car that is, once i had a chance to remove my factory exhaust and more viewing room i came across a Huge problem!..The differential mount bracket had actually been cracked right down the middle from the impact. The driver side of the cross member had also bent inward a little along with small bends on the control arms -__- . Anyways after a long time of thoroughly checking everything I proceeded to order myself some stock suspension since the winter was coming up and I would need the extra clearance with snow. I also found a local that was parting out a few Rx-8's to purchase a new rear cross member and differential bracket from.
RESTORATION
Finally had some time over the weekend to head over to guys garage parting out. Picked up a cross member in excellent shape, just needed a little renovation is all. I also purchased all the control arms on driver side that had been damaged. I figured since I had everything out of the car that I would give it all a touch up with some paint and clear coat to protect from the salt over the winter.

While I am stuck in this horrible PA weather (snowed March 31st -__-) waiting for warmer weather to finally paint I decided to give some appearance restoration. I started with the headlights which were badly scratched and yellowed from time. I used some of my favorite products including Meguiars headlight restorer, Prima Amigo, Optimum Polish scratch remover, and lastly My AutoGlym HD Wax. I also applied these products along with Meguiars Ultimate compound to restore somewhat of the clear coat on the front end which is badly faded and mostly gone. I think the result came out pretty awesome and I can;t wait to get her painted and ready to go. I also decided to give the car some interior upgrades, I originally had plans to paint the car a custom color and went with red/black leather interior. I later changed my mind and went with all black leather interior + heated seat application. The shift boot and **** were in pretty bad condition so I purchased a BRIDE material shift boot from redline goods and a RAZO formula shift ****. Lastly the paint on the rims was fading and clear was peeling so until the summer is here and I can get them powder coated or new one I did a diy with gun metal.

Thanks, I'm surprised at how hard it is to find good green colors. I was thinking of basing it on Electric Green used on Mustangs. The problem with that color is it looks dull--it doesn't seem to 'pop' enough, but that may be that they're all getting old.
