hi DJ, welcome.

you'll want to use an oil such as Idemitsu and you can add about 4oz per full tank. (some people add more, some people add less)

I suggest you check out the new members sticky thread as it has all kinds of valuable information for new owners. https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-f...t-here-202454/

I myself do 8 per tank with Sohn. It may be a little overboard

Listen to the Sith lord. Tertiary question - Did you get a rotary specific compression test when you bought the vehicle? If not, I suggest you do so to get an idea of engine health.

I use Lucas Semi Synthetic 2 Cycle Oil, that I buy from Amazon by the gallon. Any quality FC or FD oil will work fine. Typical concentration is 0.5 to 1.0 ounce per gallon. I use a generous pour of ~2 oz per 1/4 tank, which works out to something like 0.5 oz per gallon in a Series 2 car.

I second this. The Lucas Semi-Synthetic is easier to get than the Idemitsu since its available at most auto parts stores and you don't have to buy it by the case like you do with Idemitsu. I personally also do 0.4-0.5 ounces per gallon.

I also use the Lucas Semi-Synthetic oil. It works fine and easier to get and more affordable than the Idemitsu. Used to use Pettit Racing's Protek-R. That worked fine, but like the Idemitsu it was costly, and only available from Pettit Racing. No knock on the performance of either the Idemitsu or Pettit Racing premixes (both fine products from trusted Rotary suppliers), just harder to get and more expensive.

You should post info about your car too... just curious if it's one of the same ones I was looking into buying
