2004 rx8 won't start.

I have an 04 rx8 with its second engine with roughly 85000 miles on the motor and 130000on the rest if the car. I have a brand new battery. I let the car sit out in the snow ( I know. Dumb move) for about 3 months. I tried to start it. Battery dead. Tried charging the battery. Still sounds like it wants to start but doesn't fire. I did see some smoke from the exhaust so I know something is burning. I saw many posts about the engine possibly being flooded. So I tried the deposing procedure. Still nothing. Any other ideas other than the engine just being junk???

If your car is manual, try to pull start it. Otherwise, be patient with the deflood procedure (lots of info on deflooding in the new owner's thread).

You are most likely not going to be able to deflood it without taking breaks to charge the battery from another source. The cranking needed for deflooding is brutal on the battery's charge level, and plenty of people deflood it, but run the battery down so far that they re-flood it when they go to start normally. Hooking up jumper cables to another car is REALLY recommended.

If you can't do that, then pull the plugs before cranking, which helps dump the fuel out faster, so you can usually get away with less cranking sessions.
