2004 rx8 no cat someone with knowledge give me a straight answer

I want my car to be as loud as possible , I DONT CARE IF ITS LEGAL OR NOT, so the question is will it lean the motor out or hurt it in any way if I remove the cat and replace it with a NON resonated hks mid pipe and use a hks high power single side exhaust also if it will cause issues I would just take it to a shop to let them tune it so don't just tell me you wouldn't do it, either way let's hear the side effects I just want facts no bullshit

ps if anyone has recommendations for oil brands for pre mix and ratios to use on a stock 2004 rx8 that would be greatly appreciated

any recomendations to good tuning shops in PA would be helpful also

thanks in advance

No it won't hurt your engine to run catless, any JASO FC rated 2 stroke will work as a good premix, and they only work on 3rd gens Camaro's in PA.

Oh, and I hope your engine blows soon.

I thought they only worked on TransCamaros in PA?

Don't be surprised if all of a sudden you start getting roofing nails at the end of your driveway.

Well luckily its not not that hard to put the cat back on if I think it turns out to be to loud, and the hks pipe is only $199 so I'm not out that much

also I don't really understand though if you change the exhaust on a dirtbike you can have fatal effects if it's not tuned for it, so whys it different with this? And from what Iv heard these motors already seem to produce a ton of heat so if you would change the exhaust and it leans it out a little bit wouldn't that be bad considering lean makes more heat

Rotaries run rich and hate backpressure. That's a winning combination for going catless. And, the ECU can adjust the mixture up to 10% or so.

Many of us buy BHR resonated midpipes for that reason.
Plus they sound good without obnoxious rasp and noise.

Whats your reason for a resonated mid pipe? As far as I know that keeps it from flaming, which I don't mind it flaming, I think it looks pretty bad *** when they backfire and flames come out of the exhaust

The cat keeps it from flaming. The resonator does not. Rotary engines spit out some extremely obnoxious frequencies. The resonator tames them.

i assumed the resonator kept it from sparking and spitting fire because I was told dirtbikes have resonators so they don't spit fire, uncontrolled flames in the woods would not be good

I have the BHR midpipe. My car shot flames, until I got sick of the stench and welded a cat in.

I remember that thread, but not that post.
Without knowing the context of it, that's not true.
You can safely replace your cat with a midpipe without messing with anything.
I've had mine for almost 5 years and +50k miles, no issues.
Your only issue will be a recurring P0420 code that can be cleared with a smartphone & bluetooth dongle.

ok sounds good and the code that comes up that's because you removed the cat and it's not noticing a pressure difference?? If it's the code I'm thinking of I bought this kit to space the sensors out and make it think there is a pressure difference, it was like $20

Return it, they don't work.
Get a Bluetooth dongle and if you have Android, the Torque app.
The code is for Catalytic Converter below efficiency, you get the same code when they go bad.
