Smile 2 months on...

Well I had a compression test done and it was low but not terrible. Pretty much as I expected. Not too worried though as the garage gave me a 15 month warranty that covers the engine MPG is around 20 so until that drops dramatically or a CEL light comes on I'm happy to wait until closer to the end of warranty to rebuild the engine.

Nearly finished the $100 checklist (a/c stuff to do), and also oil filter. Spark plugs, coil packs and wires on my next to buy list.

Unlike every other car I've owned (and I've owned a lot), this is the first car I've wanted to own. The difference is night and day, she's clean inside and out and well maintained. My previous cars by this point were starting to fill with junk and rubbish and literally a way to get around.

I find myself grinning every time I get behind the wheel. Considering I said I'd give it a couple of months to see what I think, the answer is obvious.... Nothing will make me give her up.

Awesome..Keep her clean, and enjoy all the fun she's got to offer.

Do check with your dealer, what the warrantly cap is for each claim so that you can be well prepared ahead of time.

all the best..

I don't know if the mpg is going to drop but when she starts getting really hard to start when hot it's time to change out the engine.

The MPG wont drastically change really. I have a buddy that cant turn his car over when its hot. He has not got the engine tested but it clearly low compression, and to be honest he gets better MPG then i do. Just on how you drive. He still gets almost 20 out of his. I sometimes see 17..

She turns over okay when hot. Generally about a second longer to start, but it doesn't feel like struggling... yet.
Warranty cap is £800, but I was initially expecting to fund the entire thing. So anything towards the cost is a bonus

I like to clear the carbon out regular, just for maintenance If I drive heavy footed the entire time then the mpg does nosedive to the low-mid teens.

With mine no matter how I drive.. it delivers 300km per 40Litre of gas.
So apparantly thats 20 mpg as per my calculations, I like redlining a few times a day and even in normal driving I keep rpms to 4-5k..I was hoping to get better mpgs lol with granny driving but no luck
