I have a 2005 Rx8 I bought for really cheap and it’s misfiring it says cylinder 1 I have changed all plugs wires and coil packs it’s still very rough , it won’t stay at idle I also change mass air flow , were to go next ? It’s smoking like running lean I pulled out front two plugs they were dry like they had not had and fuel on them . Could it be injectors ? Just ideas please thank you

 

Also to go along with this will clogged cat make this problem I’m going to attempt to gut tommrow!

 

Well, the absolute first thing you need to do is a compression test. Otherwise you may just be throwing your time and money down the drain. It could be a clogged cat though if it's running rough and had a bad ignition system. It could also mean your engine on the way out. Did you get any other codes than the misfire?
