WTB: RX8 preferably AT in the tri-state area.
My mom is looking to sell her Infiniti (looks for smaller, better looking, and sportier car). She saw a few RX8s recently and she has basically fallen in love with the style and the practicality of it. She can't drive manual and we know that she will be missing out with an Automatic RX8. I would like to teach her how to drive a manual car but she would rather not since 99% of the time it will be driven in the city. She's not looking for anything specific. Lets see what you guys/girls have .

The RX8 is quite small compared to the TL-S (nice car your dad got there btw). Manhattan is a lot more busy compared to LIC. There are some slopes around midtown manhattan and the last thing i want to hear is a phone call from my mom saying how she got into an accident when her RX8 stalled and rolled back into another car.

Yeah, bit of a size difference. Acura actually included rear seats that are usuable for people of proportions larger than an infant, while allowing the driver to sit comfortably and not have his knees in his chest. lol
There is an auto RX8 at my school for sale, if I pass by it during school I'll give you the info.
If you want, PM me a contact number and I'll get you the info directly.
I believe it is silver or blue, or could be 2 of em.

You can email me at saynotopistons@yahoo.com or just PM me. Some info on the cars will be good when you find out about them.
Thanks.
Thanks.

You should avoid the 04 if you're going AT. Much higher rate of failure (tho that "fact" is difficult to prove)
Search the car sites (autotrader.com, automart.com, etc.) for 8s that are $18k max. If they're listed for 18 you should be able to get them for 16 no problem. Especially going into the winter. Sports cars sell about as fast as boats in the Northeast during winter. It's a great time to buy. Go in, offer 15k for the car you want. If they don't accept, make the offer again next month when the car is still sitting on their lot. They'll accept. It does nothing but burn money on them if it sits on the lot for the winter.
Be sure to have winter tires ready to go.

That's the best way to go. But I don't know if you'll find an 06 or 07 at the $16k mark. Should still be able to get one for 20k, but 16k probably isn't going to happen.
Then again, if a dealer has one that's just taking up space for the winter it always works in your favor. Take a look in the purchasing section - I know a new(ish) member posted an excellent thread about buying tips.
Happy hunting!
