Had to pull the mounts to get the turbo in place. Currently I need New hardware for the turbo to manifold. Hopefully I can grab it tomorrow on my way to work.

Oil lines will be made as soon as I have a minute to sit and do it.

Once their in the rad will go in.

As i said in the beginning.. it's slow.. but it's progress.

Hopefully all goes according to plan and I'll at least get to drive her a bit before winter.

Hey all.

I want to start off by asking if anyone has gotten anything from R1 concepts?
Experience? Parts purchased? Quality etc..

Anyway, intake tubing has been dropped off for welding. It should be done here within the next few days. I purchased a nitrous kit that will be installed eventually as well.
I have to connect my vacuum lines for the EBC and such yet.

I still need a new starter and battery and new coolant hoses and a tune.

A buddy is shipping me a fuel pump so I can scavenge the black hoses off of it and get mine installed back in the car.

Fenders will go on this weekend I hope.

So soon I'll get to drive her again. I hope.

Yeah, but he didn't go through with it. There's not really a need, it might even add more of a risk of going lean. I'd defiantly do a wet injection into the intake manifold. It might be a really good charge cooler.

My thought is just turn up the boost, but I can get at least 7 psi by 3250 without a boost controler.

Lol I have many plans honestly.

It may stay on my car for "show" or I may install it on another 8 and sell it as a nitrous 8.
Though I agree it may work as a cooler of sorts.
I just knew I had to get it for the deal he gave me.

The grom audio is actually very easy to install.

Shell is a stand up guy and a great seller btw.

Send me the pics when you can. Honestly you may as well send me your paypal info in a PM as well, that'll make it quick and easy. Any idea on shipping price? It'll be going to 17866

I can bring it to work tomorrow and ask them for a shipping quote (we have a post office in the building).

Do you want the clutch bracket also? (its in the same box).

Chris,

I don't need the bracket I have one already actually.
What's going on with your 8 anyway? I haven't checked on your thread in a bit.

Whats going on with my 8?

The engine is apart. The chassis has been pushed down the block into a rented storage unit. It pains me to say this, but the six port six speed swap is just not going to happen. The cost of a donor car, the amount of wiring that had to be replaced just made it cost prohibitive.

As such, we are moving forward with the four port rebuild. Ari is still on my case to do a manual swap, but until I can be assured that traction control will work, and it will pass inspection, I am not convinced.

The side housings have been sent off for lapping and refinishing. All of the internal parts are in stock, so we are ready to go on that front. There is some other repair and upgrade work yet to be done, but nothing in comparison to the rebuild.

Its a bummer, I wont lie to you. But whats important is getting the car back on the road. I love my Mazda6, but its too long, too slow, and the steering is anemic.

I pulled the radio to do the install but have heard of peeps being able to reach back there with the glove box pulled.

Yup. About to sell. This week I'm fabbing the stock midpipe onto my TXS catback, swapping my original steering wheel with the mt controls back on because its leather is in much better shape than the the MT one I got from RR.

Pondering putting my stock suspension back on and selling the powertrix.

New headlight and fog light housings so I get to pull the bumper.

Oh, and I have an uncracked passenger airbag cover to put on.

Then I think I'm done. Having a hard time letting it go. I've been driving it to work a day or two a week.

You'll miss it..

The new cars nice but it's no 8.

Chris, you have to do what's right for you and your situation. If it has to stay auto, just make it a bad *** auto. Hopefully you'll be back in her soon.
I'm curious how it turns out in the end. We have similar kits so I'm curious what the auto to Mt comparison will be.

I am curious also. What A/R is on yours? Other than new piping on mine, they are the same kit. There is also another one for sale, never used apparently!
