Who's made the switch? (winter tires)
Finally got mine yesterday. WS60 215/55R17's on the cheapest rims I could get my hands on. Night and day difference to the summer tires. I think they actually handle about as well as the summers did on dry pavement in this temperature. The W rated rubber was hard as a rock.. I spun my tires accidentally on dry pavement in a straight line the other day...
I need to get a set of wheels and winter tires. I was slipping out all over the place in yesterdays storm. Anyone know of any for sale?
How much did you spend on that whole setup?

Have any of you guys ever stored your 8 in the winter?? If so, what and where did you put it? I'm from Syracuse NY and we got clobbered with snow every year, plus all the salt and grime that will eat away the paint in 5 years or less... I've got a winter rat to use, but trying to find out the best way to store it during the frozen tundra season...
Many folks have stored their 8 for the winter... if you search for "winter storage' you may find some threads about it.
Not me though.
If you can store it in a garage, that'd be the best, but a car cover over a clean car can also do the trick.

put them on in the beginning of december. good thing too, we had a nice snow blizzard for a few days somewhere in the middle of dec, right? i got stuck in the middle of that. snow tires made it easy.

I am currently running the oem size winter tires - dunlop winter sports m3 - oem size is 225-45R18 i think.
My question is whats the narrowest tires I can run on the 8? Tirerack doesnt seem to give me any alternate smaller sizes for tires - only lists the oem size. I need to change my winter tires out prolly next season.
thanks,
Bodi

On the OEM wheels, you could probably run a 215 size, but I woudln't do it... the stock tire size of 225 is already a bit "narrow".
If you use a 17" wheel, I would run 215 on an 7.5" wide wheel or 205 on a 7" wheel.
