Alright boys and girls. I think we should have a cruise night one weekend. Get a whole bunch of Mazdas and disturb the bloody peace! I know some guys can't come to the Tuesday/Wednesday meets so a weekend cruise would probably work out better. If people are interested let me know, I will try to get as many people from Mazdas247 and rotarycarclub out as I can and if you guys have friends with Mazdas doesn't matter if its an MPV or a B2500 pickup, they can roll. I figure we can go some distance, take pics, chill, that sort of thing. If you are under 21, just tell your parents you have chaperones.

I find it pretty funny you waved to me when i was in my truck and have yet to wave back when i see you on my scooter.. I would think youd notice the scooter long before you pick out a stock f150 out of the morning crowd.

 

Ha! I'm still asleep when I'm driving to work! I see you a lot of days but don't realize it till you're past me already. I figure if I wave then, the car behind you will be wondering who the heck in the RX8 us waving at them!

 

Yo Kumar I definietely agree on the cruise. It would be sweet to get a bunch of us together. Maybe a cruise up to Kent? It's a really sweet, scenic drive up, not to mention there are a bunch of great places for a photo shoot and some cool restaurants, its like a 45 minute drive too, all around it would be pretty sweet, let's put it together. Also, if you guys are interested there is a big cruise/meet going down October 10th over in Bear Mountain state park, it should be pretty sweet.

 

I will try and make it to any cruise night, count me in.

 

Yea I'm down with that Drew. We should pick a nice sunny day on a weekend. Start around noon go hang out eat hit up a bar, and just have fun. Any of you guys play basketball or soccer?? we should have some games going.

 

Anyone here own the red RX8 along rt2 down near foxwoods? Right in Norwich up past the hospital (where rt2 drops you into town) I always see a red S1 parked on the side of the road every time i head to Foxwoods.

saw a TG S1 parked at a house this weekend in Brookfield near the Foxhill Inn. I was heading there for a wedding and was surprised to see so many 8's driving around there and the danbury area!

 

I see a yellow s1 a couple times a week drive past my work in old saybrook with a chick driving. I never noticed it until I got mine and started looking.

Back on the topic of the cruise, id love to meet up with a few other 8s and ride around before mine goes into winter storage. Haven't done a decent cruise since I was in the Honda scene.

 

Today The Friday before Christmas. Notoriously the absolute most obnoxious retail parking lot weekend of the year I come out to see this parked next to me. What are the odds? It hasn't happened on a normal day before. Let alone 2 days before Christmas. And the same color too.

 

Yea, unfortunately, my car's engine seized so I'm probably not going to make a few during the earlier part of the new year.

how many of you guys go to the autox events in the LAZ lots in hartford? I haven't gone to one but didn't know what the demographic there is.

 

I've gone to 2 of them. I'm going to a meeting next week and joining the club. I plan to go to as many this year as I can.
As far as demographic, pretty good diversity of cars last time i went. Quite a few Corvettes and mustangs. Several miatas. A couple fieros. A few Honda's. One other rx8 and a fc rx7. Among others of course.

Its a short lot so we were able to get in 6 runs on both occasions.

Yeah helmet is a must. They don't have loaners. They're not too strict about what type really though. I use my motorcycle helmet. They just want to see the sticker inside showing it to be at least newer than 10 years. There is an older guy in a brand new WRX that has a little helmet business on the side and he sells them right there if needed.
