my 2 week old 8 with ~1,000 miles smokes on initial start up. smells like oil.
also in traffic(stop and go) i can also smell oil burning...normal?
i love this car!

What do you mean? A lot of people get confused by this because when you first start up this car (especially when new) its smells very different from other vehicles. I thought something was wrong too, until I found out everyone's car has that smell coming for the exhaust..................

 

well, each morning, a cloud of blue/black smoke appears out of my exhaust. doesn't smoke on acceleration. smells like oil. the dealer wants me to leave the car overnight?
in traffic, i have a similar odor, but this one i could attribute to the cosmolene(?) effect.

no unusual oil consumption...
other than these niggling issues...this car is perfection!

Blue smoke on start-up means excess oil in the combustion chambers. Get your engine (oil metering pump?) checked out!
