Put me down as a tentative observer. It would be interesting to see what a dyno/tuning session is like and to check out the variety of aftermarket exhaust sounds of the rotary at full throttle.

No need to sign up. Performance Dyno has the day open to us RX-8's owners. So far we should have a good showing for the day. I will PM folks directions to my house to meet up next Sat, June 18th for 9:00am. First scheduled run is at 10am.
Have any mods done to your 8, 10k?
Downshift:
I will add you in as a "tentitive" attendee :D

No real mods just a ground wire kit. I got the car with the appearence package and Xeonon lamps. Thats all I need for the looks, I am waiting for a good supercharger kit, don't want a turbo. Send me directions and I will be there. :D

Alrighty, I can't wait. Looks like it won't be blisteringly hot and humid on Sat, which should help the dyno numbers. Here's to praying for 200rwhp!

Just reading through the PM I happen to work at a Mazda dealer and checked if you have DSC and turn it off you will not need to unplug the rear wheel speed sensors. So I was told.

What Mazda dealer do u work at? Tulley's? Talarico's? Grappone? Autex? McGreevy's? I am still going to bring my ramps and tools to undo the speed sensors and will also turn off the DSC completely when doing the dyno runs.

I can't wait! I never done a dyno before so this should be fun.
I agree my10ae, still undo the speed sensors just in case. Welcome to the club 10krpms! Look forward to meeting you.

WE had dyno day here on the 18th too in So. Calf.
Hey I got 163.77 RWP in 3rd gear at 7,200 RPM before the DSC kicked in.
Is that any good? The temp was high at 78.26F, 34% Humidity
They never got over 7,200RPM before the ECU kicked in to shut down the car from the front wheels not moving.
SAE correction is .98
Do you think at peak power 8,500 RPM to 9,500 RPM I would 180 or more?

Hey that was a blast guys! A great place to dyno, nice folks my10ae, thanks for showing us.
I'll see if I can get everyones together on one plot. Meanwhile, here are my two runs, one in 3rd gear, one in 5th.
176.57 RWHP 126.64 Torque 72.89F 41% humidity 3rd gear...
....and even my A/F looks good. I'm blessed :D

Great fun yesterday guys. Of course, I ended up losing my dyno sheet printout. Spin9k, can you email me my dyno run files?
If I remember correctly, I dynoed 179.7 RWHP and 127 LB/FT of torque in 5th gear. My AFRs were way lean at 15:1. I probably should have run in 3rd gear due to the ECU having different maps for 1-4 gears and 5-6 gear. I'm still pretty happy. The CZ unit was worth the money, and there is probably more power to be had.
New Euro Lip spoiler looks good! And my stickers are not on crooked!
