rotary fest. july 23rd, central and south jersey caravan

For anyone coming up from south jersey or that lives in central jersey i say we form a caravan to meet up with everyone else at route 80. i'm in the princeton area, so any central point will probably due, and i'll PM some members to get an exact address for the meeting point up north. It looks like i'll be leaving pretty early in order to meet up with the other caravans. As of now i'll be out of the country for the next 10 days so when i return i'll square up the final details for everyone.

PS. if any P.A. members are interested in coming let us know and i'll try to find a meeting spot that accounts for everyone's location.

24 days and counting.....

bump
i'm back in the good old USA. i picked up a decent tan and a crazy hangover in mexico, but all is well. As for a meeting place i was thinking the AMC theaters off the sloan ave exit off 295 (exit 65, take sloan ave east and its the very first thing off the highway.) From there mapquest of quoting me about an hour and a half drive to island dragway, so i'm thinking meeting at the movie theater lot around 8:00 to 8:30 then rolling out.

If we time this right we'll arrive pretty close in time that chrism's huge group is arriving, but can anyone verify an exact starting time for the rotorfest to open its doors?? is it 10:00 am or 11 am?

one last thing here's the exact address to the meeting spot:
325 sloan ave
trenton, NJ 08619

Roll call:
1. Dillsrotary
2.

Any chance of us meeting up with Chrism's group at that mall & riding via I-80 with them? They're meeting there (Paramus?) at 10. Isnt 830-1000 enough time for us to get there to meet up with them? Or, we can just meet them at the track...all 2 of us (so far).

if everyone wants to meet up with chrism's group then i'll change the meet up to say a home depot on route 130 thats right by exit 7a on the NJ turnpike, then we can take the turnpike up to meet up with chrism's group (which i'd rather do anyways.)

well, 5 days to go. i'm gonna meet up with chrism's group, looks like its me and duke so far, if anyone else is interested let me know. duke, here's a decent spot right outside of exit 7a on the turnpike. its a home depot and with the use of mapquest we're lookin at about an hour drive. If we meet up at or a little before 9 we should make the 10am meeting time without a problem:

1: Start out going NORTH on US-130 N. 0.3 miles Map

2: Merge onto I-195 E. 1.2 miles Map

3: Take the N. J. TURNPIKE exit- EXIT 6. 0.6 miles Map

4: Merge onto NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE N via the exit on the LEFT toward NEWARK / NEW YORK (Portions toll). 12.8 miles Map

5: Keep RIGHT to take I-95 N / NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE N toward CARS / TRUCKS-BUSES (Portions toll). 17.9 miles Map

6: Take the GARDEN STATE PARKWAY exit- EXIT 11- toward WOODBRIDGE. 0.6 miles Map

7: Merge onto GARDEN STATE PKWY N (Portions toll). 17.3 miles Map

8: Take the I-280 exit- EXIT 145- toward WEST ORANGE / NEWARK. 0.4 miles Map

9: Merge onto I-280 W via the exit on the LEFT toward THE ORANGES. 10.6 miles Map

10: Take the NEW RD exit- EXIT 1- toward US-46. 0.2 miles Map

11: Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto NEW RD. 0.7 miles Map

12: Turn RIGHT onto OLD BLOOMFIELD AVE. 0.1 miles Map

13: OLD BLOOMFIELD AVE becomes BLOOMFIELD AVE. 0.3 miles

https://www.rx8club.com/ne-rx-8-forum-29/its-official-rotorfest-2006-%40-island-dragway-7-23-06-a-85353/

just remember the directions giving my chrism is to where rotorfest is being held, not to the parking lot pictured.

I plan on riding up with you guys. The only thing that will change that is if it rains. I don't think I want to chance taking my car onto that field if it is raining.

Dill: Let me know what to do once I get to 7A to meet you at Home Depot. I'll be coming up 295 & already be on 195. Do I stay on 195 or exit first to the store, etc.? I'll be there anytime you say. 845 or so? PM your cell # to me & I'll do the same in case there's any problems (like I get pulled over for my tints & that slows me down). Thanks.

Im still on as long as it's still on. Looks like the weather will be better in that part of the state tomorrow, altho' I bet the field is muddy.
Had the car detailed today in the rain!
If I have any ?. I'll give you a call on the cell.

sounds good, someone should bring some rope too because alot of lowered cars will get stuck in the muddy grass.

also i was lucky enough to wax the car thursday night and get the cover on it, so i'll probably wake up pretty early and double over it one more time.

I'll just bring lots of towels to wipe the 8 down, I guess. Maybe I should put the winter tires back on?
