Hey everyone! I just bought my first 06 RX-8 this weekend due to totaling my accord coupe a few weeks back. I tell you what....I don't think I will ever own another car since driving the 8.
I test drove 2 and fell instantly in love. With all the problems that I've been reading about I really don't care....lol I'm a hands on typa gal and don't mind getting a little dirty and learning a little more about my car.
I think I'm more obsessed with this car then most men...I actually said I would have sex with her (8) if I could....lol
I'm hoping there will be more meets in Richmond bc I know there are tons of spots for beautiful photography and I'd like to meet some of you awesome owners as well.
And here she is:

Just make sure you use good gas (i use Phillips 66 gas 93 no ethanol) and the correct oil stated in your car manual and check the oil every other fill up and it will be fine. You take care of your car and it will take care of you. Rev it hi in the corners and have fun!!!!

Oh believe me, I've done my research and know all too well about redlining (yummmy), oil, and gas. I've heard about premixing and right now shes only got 59k on her. I'm guessing I should just stick with the 5W20 oil for now until she gets more miles on her. Plus I'm not sure how I would go abouts premixing.
Ex said...you where suppose to be getting a car that slows you down, not speeds you up. I personally think he's jealous lol
Thanks all. I'm sure you'll see me more on the forums asking stupid questions sometimes but I'll try not to be too much of a noob...lol

the oil topic has been beaten to death so its up to you. i use 10-30 vavoline but i dont drive my car in the winter.

there are threads on premix too. most use idmitsu as do i. the ammount varies with each person and driving style, street/track. i use 4-6oz per full tank

Welcome to the forums. You ought to drive by the tattoo studio where I work (www.journeysendtattoostudio.com) so I can check out your sweet ride in person.

And here she is:

good, nice to see a person likes the car itself instead of thinking about the speed.lol...enjoy the car, and if i go down there, i will let you know you might be able to show me places for pictures..

try not to use 5w20...i always use 10w30..all times...try that, and use premix...
you can use any recommendation, but i use pettitracing premix..4oz each fills.
