Sorry if this is a double post. I thought I posted it yesterday but cant find it anywhere. Anyway...

I have been waiting to tint my TI 8 since I got it a couple months ago. I was wondering if anyone in PA and NJ knew the line where tint went from legal to illegal (%). Also, any estimates of how much it might cost me to tint my 8 would be appreciated (this is the first car I've had that is worth spending extra money on, so i am unfamiliar with pricing). While you are at it, any recommended shops in Eastern PA/Central NJ would be good. Thanks in advance.

NJ you can have tint on your back windows up to 5%. On the driver/passanger windows you can not have any. If you get a light tint on the front windows you may be ok (will not pass NJ inspection). If your car is registered in Penn you can put any tint you want on and you should not be bothered. I recomend 15% back and 25% front thats what I have.

I went to Auto Image on the Sommerville Circle. They are excellent. About $180-$210 for our car.

I have 35% passenger/driver & 20% back windows, but I was ticketed 2 weeks ago here in NJ. It cost me $180, for the tints, not the ticket.

 

You will definatley get bothered in PA for tint. Not by the state cops, but by the locals. They kept giving me hell for my minimal tint on my old ride.

 

These guys are great!!! Right in Philly. $150 a year ago.
