Sorry to hear about this, Kevin. We're gonna be in a deep freeze the next couple of days so I don't expect the roads to get any better. An AWD car is really looking good to me right now...

As I talked to Mark and Sokim today I am unsure as to what my next step is. I'd LOVE to own another 8 but with finance's at the moment it just might not be possible. Unless they mark my car up the yingyang and I can get atleast 10k back after paying Chase back for the car loan.

The GF wants me to buy a more "reasonable car", along with everyone else in my family. I've been flirting with the idea of just buying a beater car pocket the rest of the money and save up hardcore for my G8 GXP Just something about a 4 door sedan with coilovers and a LS engine that just appeals to me. But I dunno for now. Oh that and a thought about buying a 2nd Gen Rx-7 but um.. anyone know if its a pure coupe or if it has a small back seats for the kids?? lol

yeah, i was thinking about how this might be a blessing in disguise for you. rx7 is a pure coupe. and let me give my recommendation to the g8. that thing is FUN. if i had kids... that car would be one of my first choices. ride is a little harsher, but it handles and oh man.. does that car have power.

for a beater recommendation.. consider an old bmw. e30. in MA you might want the 325ix. awd. very good dependable cars.

Update non-update.
Turns out my insurance is canceled. Due to several reason's one being a certain someone not giving me my bills and another due to the fact they didnt go pay it off when they said they would, I'm outa a policy. Good news is though that they are going to Honor the Claim and process the car. Now I'm just waiting for word from them so I can go about buying a new car.

Commerce in the past seems to go by kkb if not add a few % to it so I'm looking forward to a 14k pay out. I'm hoping that they'll handle the dealings with Chase in terms of paying off the car.

Anyone have any idea if I should be calling up Chase (my car loan people) and let them know about all this?? First time with dealing with a payment car like this.

So yeah.. way its looking I'm buying a legit beater car. 2-3k tops so I can save up some money. I'm one of those um "hit by these tough economic times" you hear about.

I didnt get any GAP (should of though bah!). But I put 10k down and I only owed about 7.5k left on the car. In some sence I should be somewhat fine. I figure I'll get atleast 6-7k after I pay off the loan which is somewhat good I believe, for about 3 years (just shy of it to grr) of driving I only lose about 3-4k of my initial downpayment.

Any amount is better than being upside down. Owing money on a wreck sure would suck. Silver linings, I find themzzz.

Man I'm having no luck finding a beater car on Autotrader. Anyone know of any other car sites? Again I'm thinking a 2-3k car will do me and I'll bank the rest.

Cars.com is where I have always gone. I see about 20 subarus of varying models for in the 2-3k range within 100mi of providence (i know it's not centered on you ). All are 100k-180k miles, but you said beater, and they are still late 90s models and awd, so might be worth looking at

Red face

Got a call today from Commerce.
The car is officaly written as a loss.
I called them back and gave them some info they needed and I also called up Chase to find out what my payoff quote is, its $7780. So if all goes well I should in theory get about 5-6k back. Most of this money is already spoken for and then further ear marked which kinda sucks but gotta luv this great economy we are in right guys and gals!?

Tomorrow (friday) after work I'll be going to East Coast Collision in Attelboro/Pawtucket to get my stuff outa the car. That and take off a few things to hehe. If anyone (eyes dennis) cares to help out or hang out feel free to give me a call. I plan on being there around 4pm or so. The MintBlue Spoiler is definatly coming off along with the sideskirts, only if is the Borla Exhaust since I dont have lifts or the tools atm to get the sumbitch off.

Anyone have any clue as to how much shyt I can take off/outa the car and not get in trouble??! haha.. yanno Engine cover...... air intake box..... pass through.... oh definatly taking out the inflating tire thingy in the trunk.. hmm.. whatelse isnt tied down haha.. ok going to bed.. again if anyone is around the area and cares to help out and wants to hang out feel free to call me up.

When my buddy crashed his car, he took most of the dash apart . I think it's ok if it's a total loss. hehe, hey clav, grab that passenger headlight for me, I'll throw you some money for it.

I'm going to be at work until 5.30 or so, but I'll see how I'm feeling then.

Going out to see some funk downcity tomorrow night if you want to get out of the house. I'll even pick you up if you want so you can booze it up!

Well due to a scheduling conflict I'll be tearing into the car on Monday But its better since now I'll have awhile to tear it apart hehe.
CanofWorms if ya wanna meet up I'm more than game!
Dennis, as it stands right now the gf might be going out dancing if that changes I'll let ya know (ps. PM me your Cell again I lost it )
Donny, I'll do my best to take apart most of the car hehehehe.. If CanOfWorms comes (with tools) I may be able to take off my Borla Exhaust.

Just curious as to how much they gave me for the car. Found a accord for just shy of 3k and I wouldnt mind buying it since I can't really afford to buy another used 8 (frigging economy and job cutting hours).

Oh and I'll be chillin' at home tonight with my gf's son having a "guys night" haha.. all you peeps are more than welcome to come down and chill lol.. doubt it but I've been stuck in lala land for awhile now.. Dennis how do you keep your sanity??
