Official CT RX8 Thread

Let's get this party started right people.

Instead of constantly making new threads, let's use this one as the basis for discussion. There are more of us than we think, so hopefully this will grab everyone's attention. Everyone should make an introduction post in here. List your name, location, job, age, details about your car, etc.

Now, since we are pretty scattered around the state, I was thinking of putting together a GTG for the fall in a more central location. My wife and I are flat out busy until the end of September, but October is a great time of year to hold a GTG, and maybe even take a drive.

A friend of mine from my old VW community is putting together a road rally as well. I'll keep everyone updated as to those details.

Ride hard, and keep the rubber side down.

Alright, an introduction is in order. I already made one last week that you can read here:

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/allow-myself-introduce-myself-121415/

But in case you are lazy, here is the short version...

Name: Thane Moore
Age: 28
Status: Married
Location: I own a house in Pawcatuck, CT (on the RI border by the water)
Job: Business Development Manager (and Office Ninja)
Car: 2007 Galaxy Gray Touring with all the bells and whistles, 6MT of course

About me: For the past 7 years, I've been heavily involved with the VW community. I've owned 3 GTI's of varying years, all modified. I helped start one of the largest RI / CT / MASS clubs in the area, Ocean State Dubs. I like being involved with the car scene, and I hope to carry my enthusiasm over into the Mazda world.

I look forward to meeting all of you at some point. If anyone is ever in the South Eastern CT area, let me know and we can grab a beer. I like drinking... a lot.

... and we're back.

The little site glitch we had caused some confusion, but it looks like we're back online. I had thought this post got deleted, but we're good.

Awesome, there we go. See people? It's not that painful.

Shinka-dono, Paddy's is literally 5 min from my house. As a matter of fact, my wife and I just drive by it about an hour ago. Fun place, great drinks.

I had a choice when I was 17 between a 280zx and an 83 rx7. I chose the 7. I'm sure if I chose the Nissan, i'd be on the 350z forum.

This is awesome. Great response so far people.

Rotaryrocket7, do you think you could rally your troops for a local GTG? I can try to organize something central to the state if people are interested.

I also mentioned it before... a friend of mine is putting together a road rally through CT / RI. I'll keep you updated to the date. You are all friends of Thane (me) so you'll all be welcome. Plus the VW and Audi guys would secretly love to ooh and ah over our sexual rotaryness.

that we can do. It will be a lot harder for me to get the NY guys out here, but im sure my CT guys wouldnt mind doing something. Im not as familiar with CT as of yet but im sure i will learn it. Hit up JOHN CTRA PRESIDENT (AIM:Spankmywankel) he can get you more info, he has a very nice 1985 GSL-SE here in Stamford. I was just with him the entire day chilllen getting to know the new hood.

Hope to see more CT guys soon for the CTRA meets or the NYRA meets =)
