Oct 15 2006 - Winter tires are on!
Well with the warm weather today you may think I'm crazy for putting my winter tires on but hey it gets mad cold at night! I don't want to be caught dead on summer tires during the first frost or light dusting of snow. I've had bad experiences in the past with all my whips. I've since let go of vanity and grasped safety! So let this serve as a reminder to swap to your winter tires or else I will be laughing at you when the we have a freak snow fall and you're still in your summer flip flops!
BTW I picked up slightly used Dunlop SP on Kazera 17''. What is everyone riding on?
I used to have Pirelli Snowsport 210s and liked them very much (especially high speed highway) they were quite quiet. I'd recommend them for slushy highway driving but not crazy deep snow and ice. I've also has Toyos and they were loud but their walnut inclusion compound was delicious when the snow got deep (wore out faster than the 210). So far the SP Dunlops are a bit harsher of a ride than the stock 18s (strange..) They are pretty loud too. I'll have to wait till snow to tell you any more.

Weather looks good for the next week. I think as long as daytime temps stay above 50 summer tires ought to be ok.
Then again I only have to drive down the street about 2-3 minutes to get to family mech.
