We could also grill out at assateague state park. its only like 15 min from oc and you have to drive thru west oc to get there. its like 10-15 dollars for a pass and its good for a whole week. plenty of parking just depends on how busy it is but not likely to be to busy at 5 o'clock or so. just throwing it out there, what do you all think?

The date is June 19th - June 20th

We all need to come to a decision about what hotel...I've been told two options:

stay on the beach/boardwalk

or

Stay elsewhere, and drive in to the city for the day, and chill back at the hotel when drinking (or find some DD's)

There are 2 hotels that we have available to us

http://travel.travelocity.com/hotel/...91300712313051

That's on the beach, 67th street or so...It's $220 a night, so ppl should probably consider splitting the costs with other 8 clubbers.

http://travel.travelocity.com/hotel/...11881712277443

This one is in Princess anne's, which is about 50 mins away from the actual beach, but it would be less crowded and inexpensive. This one is about $100 a night for 2 double beds, etc.

So really it's up to you guys. ON the beach and $220 a room? or OFF the beach for $100 a room? I think we should all meet up either at the beach EARLY in the day, or later in the afternoon to check in and THEN go the the beach.

BTW...the assateague sounds fun, but I don't know if everyone would be able to handle that many events going on at once....Take a poll to see if everyone would want to do it, there's no harm in a poll ^_^

okay peoples decide! or I'll decide for you and you may not like the results that I vote on.

we all could stay at assateague... if you dont mind camping =0

But OC is expensive during June...

But i vote for staying some place outside of OC and driving in. Much cheaper that way.

Bump, if we don't get input I will decide on what hotel we're going with....say your peace before the end result is something you don't want

Poll,

Princess anne + commute $100

or

Holiday Inn + on the beach $220

Need to get this done ASAP!

good luck finding parking.... June is the time for the most car shows and of course the recent graduates of high school. Parking will be scarce

Something for everyone to keep in mind, July 18th the Rolex Grand Am series will be racing at New Jersey Motorsport park in Millville N.J. (southern New Jersey). Speedsource RX8s presently have won the first three GT races in a row and are leading for the driver's and manufacturer's Championships in GT class of this Rolex Grand Am series. We should come out and support what could be an historic race season for the RX8. The tracks and circuits there are beautiful and accessible.

And you can catch the next race in this series on May 31 from Lime Rock Park in Conneticut, on Speedchannel at 2pm eastern time (live). Speed has been showing this series all year since the first race the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona.

AND !!! watch the broadcast and note the secret word flashed a few times during the broadcast, for a chance to win a special Chip Foose designed edition 2010 RX8 R3 to be awarded at the end of the Rolex racing season. Yes that is right, a one of a kind 2010 RX8 R3 to be given away free !!!

Adam has a valid point, parking is going to be a big issue if we do decide to go with the beach hotel, BUT!! Staying at the hotel on the beach DOES give us a better opportunity for parking than commuting in and trying to find parking on the side streets....

my 2 cents

Damn, I'll be leaving for the OBX that day - otherwise I'd be down... I love driving to OC, even for the day. Parking will indeed be tight, especially since Senior Weeks may still be happening around that time.

I don't think anything major is happening at the Convention Center those two days, so that might be a good place to have the main meet. Hope you guys have a great time!

Sorry guys! We'll be down there, but it's for our son's birthday. Gonna have the whole family and be doing things a 6 year old wants to do (which currently doesn't include cars).

Alright!! time is scarce we need to decide on a hotel, like....NAO! cost wise, it would be cheaper for us to stay at the Princess anne Econo lodge, we'll commute in and then have specified DD's if bars/alcohol is involved. I think that would be one of the more cost efficient options.

However, convenience wise, it'll probably be a little easier to get parking and go, to and from the hotel if we stay beachfront.

I'm rooting beachfront, but that's just me...

Alrighty! slam, bam, thank you ma'am!

We're going with the Holiday Inn, oceanfront, on 67th street. I just called the hotel and asked about any way for us to all be on the same floor, she said to call back and ask once everyone's gotten their room, so pm me the name the room is under and I'll start my list with her. I make no guarantees, but I'll try.

http://travel.travelocity.com/hotel/...05448569694079

here's the room pricing, note: advanced payment, CANNOT be refunded, choose wisely

Also, the woman on the phone told me that you can add a request when using travelocity, so you might want to type something like, "associated with rx8club" or something along those lines so she can tell who I'm trying to get to stay on the same floor. Thanks guys!
