Well im just gauging some interests. I have spoken with a few 8 members, Will (WillsRX), Dave (416To212), Richard (emaillists) and others about a NYC rotary meet, so us 7 and 8 can meet before the official 8/13 meet at bear mountain. This way we can have a sicker caravan going up to bear mountain.

This wont be a bbq like NYRA's other meets but just a lil rendevous so 7 & some 8 owners can meet up.

Im Thinking Flushing Meadows park in Corona Queens. We have used this spot before its easily accessible.

If you 8 guys in NYC are down please let me know, cuz i can round up the 7 guys in a hearbeat, but i need to make sure that you guys will show up.

I have invited a few 8's before to 3 of our meets and so have had 0 come.

So again, anyone want to have a Rotary meet (RX-7/RX-8) in NYC, let me know ill set something up soon.

Its exit 11 on Van Wyck (I-678) going SOUTH, this is important becuase when your going on I-678 North, theres a problem with that exit (it dont exist). So its easier to get on Van Wyck going south to exit 11, follow signs for FMP.

When you enter the park youll see a stop sign, you make a left and keep driving around the man made lake till your adjacent to Grand Central Parkway.

Pre-meet on 110th-111th street on astoria blvd at 11:30am, to help those who will get lost (Recommended for first timers to FMP).

NOTE:
GOOD: If you take Cross Island to Whitestone expressway to Van Wyck or GCP to Astoria BLVD (Around Pre-meet) then Whitestone to Van Wyck

NOT GOOD: Take LIE to GCP East to Van wyck cause you will miss exit 11.
or GCP East To Van Wyck.

Bear Mountain has some sick roads to drive on. There are a lot of roads going through Seven Lakes drive and off of that have great "S" turns, horseshoe bends and curving roads. I haven't been there since spring but I use to go driving through there every Sunday morning. I am game if you guys are going to make a trip up. I live in the Northern NJ area. You should go early on a Sunday morning up there, other wise you will run into a lot of Bicyclists, walkers, hikers, and motorcyclists. Looking forward.

Hey Chris, I know what you mean. I have to work Saturday night (7pm -7am Sunday morning). Trying to get sunday off so I can make it.

i will be there rain or shine. So far like two (2) 8's are coming. And from RX7's like 4 or so.
