in NYC, are all seasons fine for the winter or winter tires a must?
I live in Queens nyc so the roads are paved very quick... even so i believe that all seasons should be fine for the winter? and does anyone have any recommendations on which all seasons i should get and i can mount on my stock rims?

the problem with all season tires are they are compromised.. they -try- to be good in all conditions but in reality they suck at all of them except dry.

While I don't live in the NYC/NJ area anymore, my experience is that the snow that does fall there usually is very wet, slushy, slimey, and slick. If you going to drive in the stuff you'll want a good set of REAL snow tires to deal with it.

All season's are indeed a compromise, but given the city, and modern plowing/salting, they're adequate. However, if you're planning to travel upstate from the city you really need dedicated snows.
