Not Seeing New Rx-8 on Dealer Lots
Hey Everyone,
I'm looking to get an Rx-8 in September of 2010, but I'm a little confused. I'm from New Jersey and haven't seen any of the New Generation 2009 Rx-8's on the Dealer lots.... Does anyone know when they might become available? I still have a little bit, but I wanted to check them out.
Is Mazda waiting for the 2010 models?
Thanks,
Renesis

Demand for new vehicles is low right now so dealerships are not bringing in large quantities of new models, especially the niche-market, slow selling rotary machines.
They are out there and any good dealer will get you what you want. It doesn't look like any dealership has more than one at a time, but they are around. I'm not sure if this link will work or not, but here's the list of 8's with in 200 miles of Newark (randomly chosen NJ city.)
Or just go to MazdaUSA.com and search the inventory yourself.
EDIT: As I suspected, the link to a search doesn't work. It does, however, take you right to the search screen for rx-8 inventory - just enter your zip and go . . .

There's a sexy red 09 R3 sitting at the mazda dealership in Montgomeryville, PA that they're listing for 28k. You could probably talk them down further on it because it's been sitting there forever....
The explanation I was given from my friend's mazda dealership was that they typically only keep one on hand to show people (usually the sport trim) because a) they barely sell any of them and b) if someone's going to buy a new 8, 90% of the time they want specific options/trim/color and it will have to be ordered anyway.

Thank you for the link, I saw some that were kind of far away, but if it's for the 8 I'll go the extra miles haha

I was looking at the R3, although I'm trying to bring the cost down below at least $31,000 or less. That's sounds like an awesome deal for an R3, I saw one of them on a Youtube video of a guy who got one in New Jersey.
One nice thing about buying it out in PA is that the cars seem to cost less out there. I'm near NYC in Northern NJ and some of the prices can be pretty hefty.
Thank you for the R3 info and the tips!

Some dealers still get more than one RX-8 at the beginning of the model year but that was a while back. It doesn't sell well so they don't get many. The further west you go into Pennsylvania, the cheaper prices you can negotiate.

A trip to montgomeryville would be about 2 hours for you, depending on where you are near the city. Just take the jersey turnpike to pa turnpike and get off at the 4th exit for Rt 309 north and you're basically there. Hell, I drove up to Boston and back twice from Philly to get my 8. 2 hours is cake.
They post the thing on philadelphia craigslist in the cars/trucks section like every single day for 28k with tons of pics, so obviously they're trying to get it off the lot. lol

Try the Mazda Dealer In Freehold. There been this blue R3 RX8 sitting there for the past 4 months everytime i drive by there. + they seem to have a couple red and blacks laying around in the back, not sure if they are autos or sticks though. But they are out there.
