Anyone here live in Norfolk VA? I'm joining the Navy here in a couple months and my top 3 picks on where to live happen to be the 3 biggest Navy bases in the US (Norfolk, San Diego, Jacksonville). Just looking to get some basic info (weather, traffic, people, the city, tuner shops, things to do, etc). Are there any rotary meets in Norfolk? There are a bunch of RX8's over here on Bragg but I never hear of any kinds of meetings.

 

There is a pretty active Rotary group that meets monthly. Our RX-8 gang has petered out a bit, but there are a bunch of us around. This thread has the local crew in it.

 

i liked San Diego better.

 

Well those are my 3 top choices:

Norfolk, VA
San Diego, CA
Jacksonville, FL

Florida sounds nice just cuz there's no emission testing but I was just looking for other people's imput.

Norfolk sucks.
San Diego is nice. not car mod friendly.
Jacksoville is where i grew up and i love it there. you can mod your car however you want pretty much. thats where i'm moving back to when i get out of the Navy.

 

Jacksonville it is then I don't think it'd really suck to live in any of those places but I was kinda leaning towards Florida anyway. Didn't care much for VA the few times I've past through and San Diego is alright...when its not on fire.
