Yeah, I have been Guy Ingognito lately on this forum. I have been poking around but haven't been speaking up much.

As for the RX-8, alas, I did not get it. But that does not mean I won't get it. I got a case of cold feet at the very last second and decided to wait on the purchase for a little bit. I have been thinking extensively about a next car. s2000? maybe, TSX? maybe still. But there is something in the back of my mind that makes me want the RX-8. Maybe if there is a NJ meet sometime I could go and pick the brains of some of the owners.

Anyway, that is all. You all done with Lehigh? (Thought I remembered something about you going there). If so, how are ya liking the real world? Always curious to see how fellow Lehigh alum is doing. Where did you land? Hit me with a PM. Lata

East Coast

OOPS... :o Sorry about that. I looked back and tallguylehigh actually mentioned PA, not you.

How has East Coast been? I'm still saving for as much of a down payment as I can (which isn't much, right now, unfortunately)... may have to settle for a trade in alone.

east coast is not bad. way back when when wayne mazda quoted me 10k over msrp and only gt with nav available, east coast told me msrp and that i could spec it exactly the way i wanted it. so it was a no brainer for me. the guys are fairly nice. my only gripe is that i think they tried to pull a fast one on me by tacking on a random $1500 when they first brought out the numbers. i dunno, perhaps it was an honest mistake like they told me it was when i pointed it out. but wtf? also, they gave me a hard time with my peoplefirst (capitalone) check. so i had to go through chase with them at first and refinance it with the peoplefirst check later.
i first went in wanting to lease the car, but when i realized i would only be paying $40 more per month to finance, i quickly switched my plan. is it just me or is 9% pretty high interest rate for leasing?
anyway, i have my car now just the way i wanted it. i'm making payments around what i wanted, and am loving the car! man, it's like everytime i drive it gets better and better. good luck with everything.

Ok guys, Im looking to lease an rx-8. I have been dealing with East Coast Mazda for this lease, and Shawn is the sales person that i am dealing with. Im looking at a 6500 down payment and payments at 300 a month, but it would take them a little while to get the exact car i want. Just for fun i called wayne mazda and spoke to chris. He was really cool and i told him the deal that east coast was willing to make, and i asked him if he could do 5500 down and 300 a month. He called me back and said that was definately possible, so i told him to get a titanium gray with just the touring package, and he called me back and said he had the exact car i wanted. Anybody know if this is a decent deal. Anybody suggest any other dealer in the area? Thanks for the advice.

Check out Flemington Mazda. It is a no hassle dealership. I got my RX for $1000 under sticker back in October with no problem. They tell you right up front what the car will cost you.

I purchased my car from East Coast because I got a great deal. I live in Denville put work in Paramus so it was local to work. I really don't like East Coast but I got a great deal that Wayne would not honor. I brought my car to Wayne for service because I didn't like the service at East Coast. The sales manager in wayne was furious that his sales people didn't make the same deal on the car from East Coast and wanted to know "realy" badly who at the dealership wouldn't make the deal. I have real bad luck in the past from Grecco with my rx7 so I would NEVER buy ANYTHING from them. If you want a deal with Wayne we need to hook up and I'll call the Manager over there and give him the chance to make the deal. I was there yesterday 11/19. He call me three times to ask who I talked to so it won't happen again. Hope this helps.

This past Saturday my Dad and I were particurlarly bored, so that evening we decided to go look at Wayne Mazda to see their selection of RX-8's and see whether or not we could test drive one. It started out pretty harmlessly, there was a nice black one in front and a blue one in the showroom. But then I looked in the back lot and saw a row of sleek looking cars. So, we walked back there, and sure enough, there were some more RX-8's- 8 of them I recall. Needless to say they had quite an inventory. Then, just as we were leaving, I noticed a second floor to the showroom and saw an RX-8 up there. So we walked up the ramp expecting to see a couple more RX-8's up there. Boy were we wrong- we saw 20!!! That makes for a grand total of 30 RX-8's on the lot

30!!!! This number seems ridiculous. With that kind of inventory they have to be dealing at invoice, or jeez, maybe even cost with that kind of selection. MSRP from Wayne is a so-so deal, seeing the backlog of cars they have there. Am calling today to see what they say, will report later. Sorry, but I think 30 is ridiculous, ya gotta think they should start dumping them soon right?

Thumbs up

I give Wayne Mazda A+++++++++ when dealing with me. I just bought my Rx-8 in titanium gray and dealt with Chris. He treated me with alot of respect, and I bothered the hell out of him. I had him pulling up all different kind of numbers and what not to see what my options were. I must have called him atleast 50 times. Each time he would answer all my questions.

Yes they do have a hug selection of Rx-8's and b.c of that they gave me a big discount on my car. lets just say i saved about 3 grand off of sticker price. I was really pleased with Wayne Mazda's people, and they each said congrats to me and shook my hand. I must say that they treated me (a 19 year old) with complete professionalism and what not. The only thing that i didnt like was that they dont offer free oil changes, but hey they saved me alot of money........

So if you haven't bought your Rx-8 yet go to Wayne Mazda, and I would recommend dealing with Chris D'Onofrio.
