Exclamation NJ/NY/PA/MD RX8 Racers needed

wow, an RX-8 would get SMOKED in a 1/4 race by every car listed in that category...

maybe they meant to invite the turbo RX-7 instead? no offense guys....

this sounds like a joke...

Yes a stock RX-8 would get it's clock cleaned, but the joke would be if everyone who talks trash on the forums never bothers to participate.

This is a world challenge and modifed vehicles are the key. So that there are no complaints such as "how come my car wasn't represented" we are opening it up to the major CURRENT model "GT" performance cars.

Hopefully the valiant effort by all the seemingly underdogs will either cause a surprising upset or inspire more support or better contenders to come out of the wood works.

Hope to see you there, Jon.

Lightbulb Toyota Reps!

As the Supra is no longer available, that model was disqualified as an entry. The IS300 was overlooked simply because it had such a small group, however if 2 competitively modified IS300's are available in the area, they are more than welcome to carry Toyota's banner! :D

ps

As a matter of fact, can you post on IS300.net?

ahhhh, such a small group? we have at least 50 IS300 enthusiasts here in NJ who are hardcore in modding these cars, as its counter-part the Altezza in Japan.

I could get ut at least 30 IS300's likely to show up to Atco, depending on the date...

why would you want only 2 competitvely modified IS300's?

I will be happy to post it on IS300.net and see what reaction would be

Wow,

Obviously I was in the dark about IS300's, but that's why we're putting together such an event so everyone has and fair playing ground to show their stuff. We can only have two representative simply because of the time, personnel, and magazine space limitations. We have a maximum limit of 15 cars we can allow.

Well, at only 240'ish rwhp I'm not expecting to make any kind of 'surprise' at the event. I just want to see what the 8 will od on the strip and not embarrass myself in the process

No stockers will be allowed. It's highly modified, street legal mayhem I want. The stories that will have readers drooling with the tuner goodies in there.

philodox,

I'm intrigued to see what the Turbo 8s' will run. You'll have a tremendous weight advantage over the competition and depending on your computer tune and rear gears you should have incredible trap ET's.

We'll see.. an unofficial 0-100 time of about 12' seconds from my stopwatch. Not sure what that would equate in 1/4 mile times.

Good luck, Philodox! Be sure to post results, good or bad, in the general forum (don't ask me what I'm doing here, btw. Just passing through )
