Is negative temp reading possible?
So I get in the car this morning and the temperature reading is "0", which made us wonder - does the LCD display negative numbers if the temp drops that low? Anyone who's had their car more than one winter know?

Damn Canadians. When are you going to be like the rest of the world and get away from that metrics crap?
Seriously, I have a friend in Canada and she will ask me the temp here. I have to switch over to Celsius because she doesn't understand Fahrenheit and I don't understand Celsius.

Get over yourselves okay?
Try saying it's warm, it's hot, it's freezing etc. You could also use the metric setting on your '8 so you could get used to it.
Some day you guys may join the rest of the world.... and I DO mean the rest of the world.

I am with you on that. America does need to get with it and go metric. The imperial system is obsolete and simply inconvenient. I was a Quality Assurance Tech for a while and was in the Marines. So I actualy prefer metric and can use it easily. With temp. I am just not used to it. I am learning though. To me there is just more than hot, warm, cold. Plus switching the temp reading in my 8 over to tell her, it helps me relate the temps.
Oh, I hope you know I was just kidding. Making fun of how alot of us Americans think we are the world. Didn't want to offend.

By the way. It is 60f here. That is 15.56c. (I found a metric/standard conversion) Ok, I know now that 15.56 C. wants me to get in my 8 and ride around with the sunroof open.

Wow! I think if I'd seen that cold I wouldn't start her up.
I did start my beater `87 F150 in weather like that (about -10F) a couple of winters ago. She was always a solid starter (bless her fuel injectors) but that morning she wheezed and groaned and turned slow, slow, slow, then caught. Well, I knew the engine needed some warm-up time so I got out to scrape a bit more ice off the windows and that's when I noticed the engine seemed to be dragging. It really sounded sick, then the rpms jumped a bit and then a huge BANG! like an M80 followed by tons of white smoke billowing out from the hood. Drove fine, but the dang thing always sucked a lot more exhaust fumes into the cabin after that day. I pushed it into early semi-retirement soon after that.
With that experience in mind I prefer to risk the battle van blowing her seals on the -10F mornings.
