NE NJ local meets on Tuesday nights
You've been around since 2008. What were you doing that whole time? Even I know which ones are the best and I'm an Rx7 guy. The rotary ones had alot of defects. Look for the v8 versions. I've seen alot floating around on autotrader.
NO wonder why people dont like Rx7 owners... they're ********
BTW some cool technology "monoturbo"

Hahhaha congrats man. That's awesome. Whatever you know you like v8.
Also, I'm sorry. I think I'm going to sell the Euro spec rear wiper tank . I'm so sad. I think I may sell my Spirit R interior pieces as well.

When I made this account I was in the market for a new car. I opted for a 2006 Cobalt SS LSJ. Now 4 years later, I'm in the market again looking. It's between a Solstice LNF aka GXP or RX8 but I'm trying to figure out which have the least problems vs most. So yea I logged back in last week. As far as I know 07 and up seems to be least amount of issues. But I guess I'm looking in the wrong place for answers. Also if I wanted another LS motor I'd just buy a goat or camaro ya know. I'm looking for a fully stock 6 speed rx8. Just the ones with least problems haha. Surprisingly I'm getting more
Info on the CSS.net forum vs this one. Which is confusing. A link below is provided. Idk if it'll let you guys view it. Obviously ignore the trollers. All forums have em. But you can def depict the knowledgable vs non.

ill be nice, but you should really post in the rx8 discussion sub section if you are looking for advice.
stay away from 04s and 05s period. The potential for improper maintainence, and late ecu flashes has caused many engine problems.
it just depends how long you are going to keep the car. If you plan to have it for the long haul then get a low milage one. Now you have to determine how many years do you want an engine warranty. I opted for an 08 for the longest warranty on a S1. paid 18.5k for my 40th anniversary.
then you have to determine if you like the new bodystyle, and if you do, research will tell you the aftermarket sucks and almost everything has to be custom made and/or simply doesnt exist. While we are talking about aftermarket, without getting into engine porting and FI, there is only so much you can do to an NA car, Exhaust, intake, midpipe, header and when thats all said and done you are looking at around 15hp. Get your car tuned and lean out the engine a little bit with an cobb ap and you might see another 10hp. Together, without shipping these 5 things will cost you around $2,500. Aftermarket doesnt come cheap, nor does it give much performance for what you pay for.
buy the rx8, put on sticky tires and drive the **** out of it, you will never look back to that pos fwd crap.
Research research and more research is involved when buying a rotary, i have about 1-2 years of FD research and i have not even begun to crack the surface in terms of information. When i was looking for a rx8, i spent everyday on rx8club reading for hours and hours. I always say when buying any type of rotary, there should be no point in your ownership where you are surprised that something happened. Expect the worst, and afford it and you will love the car. Rebuilds arent even that scary when you think about it.
generally the rx8 motors last around 80-110k miles, now that doesnt mean that at 111k miles isnt possible, there is a user i believe with 300k miles on his original engine. There is also a user at 100k miles and never changed the oil. Then of course there are users that even with religiously maintained cars have their engines go out at 80k, 50k and even 30k miles. These engines are all hand built, some are made better than others its just a luck of the draw.
The reason for many 04 and 05 engine failure horror stories is the lack of a proper update to the ecu, and by the time it was given, the damage was done. Now this doesnt mean all 04s and 05s have a low engine life, i have many friends with 04s and 05s on their first engine at 100k miles. I personally wouldnt put my self in a situation where it was more possible to have to replace an engine.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH
Haha it would be so awesome if the FD was rolling because the guy was so fat.
Something is very odd with that FD though. Besides the obvious stuff, it's a LHD car with JDM fender side marker and JDM blanks on the bumper. Weird. I think it has the headlights that squirt water as well.
