I would love to do this, but the car aint been checked up on yet. Gotta make sure everything is perfect mechanically, and get some new brakes and front tires before I'm doin any trips on the highway.

met a really chill guy in the parking lot with a FD, we chat for a few minutes. S2000 blue painted FD with plates from NY, said his username on 7club was Peeduh or something like that. paid 8k for a beat to **** FD and just dropped in a rebuilt motor that was 5k. Work rezaxs in blue with lip. oh and a RE-A front with RE-A hood. Pulled it off well, i know Benny wanted a RE-A front but didnt want to get it without the full kit, i think he had vertex or similar sides.

Looked awfully close to BattleCat's FD, minus the ridiculous 18x9000 rims he has on that thing.

 

Goodtimes bro. I actually raced that FD on my way home lol...

and benny, my gf lives in metuchen so im basically there on weekends

 

oh and preston, same thing happened with ferrari way back in history, ford was going to buy ferrari, they refused and basically said they were better then ford, which in reply ford said **** you, built the gt40 and dominated the 24 hours of le mans for 4 years straight

companies are constantly buying other companies, vw owns bugatti, audi and Lamborghini

doesnt mean bmw would be dumb enough to start using a subsidiary company just to pump out rotaries, even though it wouldnt be too difficult since it seems like mazda hasnt renewed their patents on any of the rotaries since 1985

but if you really look back at the history, it just doesnt seem logical, audi stopped testing with the engine in 86, GM, Ford, mercedes, Citroen and some other companies all played with the engine and dropped it

bmw knows the history, i honestly dont think theres any were you can really improve the engine, it would really be a shock to me if bmw decided to do it

Formula D was awesome this year! (Except for the judging IMO). I already can't wait for next year now that Kyle Mohan is going 3 rotor!

 

the gearing needs to be changed for the rx8s i saw, by the time they got to the entry in 3rd gear they were too low in the rpm band and couldnt initiate high enough on the bank. And then they werent in the power band to be able to pull off more angle during the course.

But it was more nascar.... than drift..... Pretty much EVERY car had a LS... it was just blahh.

Nothing against the LS motor..... but think about it... all the shirts and murchandise was tuner based.... "I love my 2jz"...... "Evo This!".. "WRX that".... but yet almost every car had a american motor? I didnt even see any LS shirts... lol...

Nothing against the motor swps..... but last years were more impressive. M3 with a M5 V10.... 4rotor Rx8's.... 3rotor turbo 8's.... I almost feel like the sponsor are taking over the sport... thus forcing teams to run what practical.

The best highlights of the event were Omars car in the booth.. and everybody pointing and looking...

And benny giving a plush toy to the mazda trix driver.... the driver was SOOOOooOO excited!!!! he was about to put benny on the team

yep, hate what its turning into.

i think there should be horsepower classes or atleast a cap, its hardly fair that 86's are put up against cars with ls motors.

one driver you will never see a ls motor in is Taka Aono's 86, hes made it known that he hates v8s and doesnt like what its doing to FD.

But because he didnt switch, he doesnt win and because of that i think thats why Falken dropped him and hes with Megan now.

if you want to continue in the series, its gotten to the point where you need to swap the ls motor in.

 

i remember the first year with the toyota 86 drifting... that thing was screaminG!!!!!!!!! at like 11k rpms!!! lol just to keep up...... u really felt like the driver was going all out..... and he was actually winning some rounds...
underpowered or not its all about momentum and technique


my biggest gripe is:
If the car is more than capable with its own platform... then why swap??? miata.... ok...
But 240's...350's... there's no reason for it.

thats kind of the reason i liked going to E town, their track is setup better for cars with less hp, because of the long straight

but i agree, i found it much more interesting last year when me n ray went to watch the drifting at E town

its better when theres more diverse competition then different chassis with the same engine

BTW IDK LS or no LS. Its like dudes with rotas or Volks. Its what ever your team can afford. To me its about the driving skill. Not so much whats under the hood. 500whp is 500whp weather its coming out of a LS or rotary or SR20Det.
