Anyone wanna visit Neil (Pico) on tuesday?...I spoke with him today and he's in a hospital somewhere in Bergen....He's losing his mind...literally...

Also anyone have any ideas why my water temp gauge is reading 160-170F while cruising on the highway? 0.o

Whats wrong with those water temps? do you usually see less on a humid day today around 80?

Usually the temp (according to my AP before it broke) was over 180F and the gauges are reading lower than what I expect to be operating temp...makes me think about my oil temp as well now

^ maybe MM did change your fan settings? Or maybe you are just cooler then most. If you are crusing pretty nice you can see those temps easily. check your sensor but i would think you are fine raymondo. Isnt the AP taking the reading from a different place then your gauges makes me think i wonder what my gauges read vs the ap.

The stock coolant sensor (what the AP reads) is placed right before the thermostat and the prosport is tapped into the upper radiator hose

Same place as mine i think you will see a difference since the upper radiator hose you is after the thermostat is opened right and the stock is before?

ray.. we went over this 1000x times.

your gauge sensor is in the coolant hose that is PRE-THERMOSTAT.

when you are on the highway, the car is constantly being cooled and the thermostat is CLOSED.

all the coolant in the hose with the sensor is just sitting there, COOLING DOWN, of course the sensor is going to give you those temps if the coolant is just sitting there cooling off since it is NOT coming from the motor.

ray,
you can either A, not worry about it
or B move your prosport sensor to a better location

right he doesn't need to worry about it at all... but this is ray and he'll complain about it forever.

if he wanted to get the gauge to read the real temp at all operating temps he would do get the RB water temp sender and install it further up on the heater hose.
