well i suppose it might fit in the se, but it's be tight as hell (that's what she said) and you'd probably have to move some things, like the battery, to the trunk... interesting idea... but the balance would be so messed up after, it wouldn't be a rex anymore.

why would the balance be messed up if the difference in weight is < 60lbs and the battery would be relocated to the trunk?

Highly untrue.

People made the same speculations about the LSx swap into the FD and numbers prove that the LSx swap to give slightly "better" weight distribution than the original rotary.

But yes the LSx will fit in an 8 for sure. People dont do it because (no offense) most 8 owners leave their car stock so there wont be a way to get fed up with modification problems and wanted to go a better, more reliable, more efficient powerplant swap.

and fd isn't 50/50 with the 13b. a se is just about with the renny. so unless you get a near 60 pound battery and throw enough junk in the trunk in the right spot, it will balance different... maybe not as severe as i made it sound. : but enough to notice. and if you look at the dimensions, sure a ls1 will fit, but it will be tight if you want to get the engine seated on some good mounts low enough in the bay ...

besides. that's not the point. a PISTON in a REX!? blasphemy...

FD's arent 50/50 weight distributed? Thats news to me, i have no idea where you get your sources from.

LF 729 RF 695
LR 705 RR 692

=
FRONT - 1424
REAR - 1397

Difference in weight - 27lbs over for the front

Thats from a 93 touring. On 1/4 TANK of gas. Since FD's fuel capacity is 20 gallons, i would imagine on 3/4 tank would even out the weight distribution to NEAR perfect.

For people who dont like running their car on a full tank (ME), thats the main reason why i relocated my battery to my hatch. This way i take some weight off the front and can run about 1/2 tank of gas and be near perfect 50/50. But my car is an R1 so that might differ a bit. Differences arent much anyway, maybe 50lbs AT MOST to be heavier on the front. Something i fixed when i moved the battery to the hatch.

lol nah.

Or were you joking?

FD's are known for those weird weights. Which is why i believe why most FD's, the driver side sits slightly lower than the passenger. I have that problem. I can show you at the next meet.

i was just being more exact... i know the fd is an amazing car and is close to balance. just also know the se3p is closer. silly exactness, engineering habit.

i just don't like the idea of upsetting the balance (and 100 pounds will make a difference) or of sticking a piston engine in the se bay. label me a purist if you want... i don't mind. :-p

In addition to the DICE iPod adapter I also have BRAND NEW Tein S. Tech lowering springs that I will trying selling locally first for $160. These are brand new authentic. Will bring to meet if anyone is interested. I believe Kel_RX8 car is dropped on these springs.

Some stuff came up over the weekend, so gotta sell some of what I was going to be putting on.

well if you don't listen to cd's much, you could always hardwire the output from the adapter into the input for the cd channel on your radio amplifier up front. that might do the trick. it would require some tearing apart, stripping, and some soldering, but it might work...

^^bad idea
get a new cd console if you're gonna do that.. spend the time you'd be wasting by ripping your cd player apart doing side job work and just buy a new cd player..
