Pictures!

There are a BUNCH of pictures here from this weekend. They aren't in any kind of order, unfortunately, but there are a LOT of really cool cars in there. Be sure to check out the movies as well- not the highest quality, but good enough for you to get the idea. Enjoy!

Very cool pics of the meet! I got down to Salisbury MD to visit my kids but the hurricane and a recording session prevented getting to the event. I am envious of the track time. I live in Cleveland and will be planning a trip to the Nelson Ledges road course before the season ends. Thanks for posting the movies as well.

Looks like a good turn out. Did you take a head count on the RX-8's?

There was a black, titanium, nordic green, yellow, silver, and THREE blue 8s. I didn't meet the owner of one of the blue 8s, however, and he never came and said hello to the rest of us. BUt it was a lot of fun, and I hope to see everyone next year. Just make sure you sign up EARLY so you can take the driving classes- it was really hard watching everyone else zooming around the track all weekend, and just sitting and watching. The parade laps were a lot of fun, but they only make you want more.

The yellow was brought down by Malloy Mazda in Woodbridge, VA. They were there selling engine parts, keychains, etc. from the back of a truck.

Ditto on that! I VERY MUCH want to take the driving classes. I had never been to a track at all before, so I didn't know what to expect. I've been a spectator at a few autocross events, but that doesn't compare at all to this type of event!

p.s. I took some photos too, but they're pretty much more of the same as the ones Elara posted. So I'll post only one here: this is (left to right) Elara's Nordic Green, my Titanium Gray, and TreknMazda's Brilliant Black.

Did any one there actually have any mods on their cars yet?

If you mean engine, suspension, etc, I don't think so. Two RX-8s were part of the class, one student in a Blue RX-8 and one instructor in a Silver RX-8 (Both forum members). They both praised the braking and handling. But the stock tires are not the best suited for track-action.

Well yea mods, I don't consider wankel valve stem caps and rotor accent kits mods although alot of people around here seem to.

I was thinking more along the line of Wheels, Front end swaps, turbo kits, coil overs etc...
But I guess it will be awhile since i imagine that most will be scared to void their warantee.

I love my 3rd gen.:D

I tend to agree with you ... I consider those items appearance accessories rather than "mods"...however, you didn't specifically ask about performance mods or engine mods.
