i booked a room at the Marriot Courtyard with double queen beds if anyone wants to split the cost PM me. i got nowhere near as good a deal as you did Derex'8.

if you are already up here in Hampton then we can meet up here. your location sais you're in Norfolk though? i was thinking maybe meeting somewhere near 58. that way everyone has a convenient spot to meet coming from both sides of the water. does anyone else plan on meeting up with us?

as for time, that would put us getting there at noon or 1pm. some of the events start at 8am, but who wants to get up early enough for that? i think we should be leaving more towards 8.

looks like the drive is gonna take around 4 hours. the Falken Drift experience is 1240-1320 both days. when i say 58 i'm talking about where 64,264, and 664 all kinda meetup in suffolk. from there we just go due west for a while.

i'll take you up on the gokart challenge.

 

I'm coming, but I can't commit to a time. I'm out of town on business and fly back late Friday. I want to make sure I see my kids some before I go, so I'll probably leave a little later than you guys.

Just watch the cops around Emporia. I guess since there's a bypass now, they aren't as bad, but it's a notorious speed trap. The drive between I95 and I85 is pretty if you haven't done it before.

GT-Live has a link to a Yahoo map to VIR. Basically take 58 past I95, past I85, past South Boston then south on hwy 119. The map takes you from there.

This event was a great!!!...I plan to get out there next year and do the Redline time attack...Meeting and taking pics w/Tarzan was awesome
and even though the 30 straight minutes of karting kicked my *** that was definately one of my highlights for the weekend!!!

I got pulled over by the infamous emporia police on the way back today doing 71/55...My court date is Nov 29th in emporia. ...not a chance of me going back there, jus going to go ahead & pay ticket.

Where is the bypass when travling 58?......I'll be taking an alternate rout next time....

 

at least you didn't get a reckless driving ticket. i don't think there is a bypass as far as i know, unless there is a really long way around.

 

The route you took is the bypass, I'm sure. It's the part on this side of I-95 to near the edge of town. The old route was right through town. At least you were under 75. I tried to help, man!
