Hello fellow Mazzdachusetts muddafuggas. I have just purchased myself an Rx-8. It is a 2004 w/ 48k, it seems to be in great shape and I've been driving it all over the place. Love it. Isn't super fast but it handles like a dream. Not to mention I love the cabin ergonomics the exclusivity of a rotary etc. I'm looking for a new or possibly used "Giovanna Brake" rim. The size would be 19"x9.5", color chrome???Anyone, anyone?. It is discontinued, didn't know if some pack rat was holding one??? Would be great. I'll have to find one somehow, or purchase a complete new set of rims if I can't soon. I'm taking the car to (W)ellesley Mazda tommorow to have the engine vaccum checked. It is idling rougly and slowly (around 750) 950 rpms at idle is normal from what I've read up on this car. I hope this is a good dealer to go to, and I hope I pass the vac test. Is there a place nearby that has quality uprgrade parts for this car, like bhr coils and plug wires?

lol Huey, much better customer service in Wakefield though my man. They always take care of people there, especially people I send there. JMC, good luck man. Hopefully I'll see you at autocross with the new car.

White, white, white !!!!!!
It is the absolute best color on an 8. If I didn't get such a great deal on my TiGray, I would have bought white.

White white Xombie. At some point I'd like to paint mine white myself...but that won't be for some time. :D

lol Twisty... that was an amazing translation on your own words my friend. Personally.. I recommend going to Liberty Mazda in Wakefield, right off 128. Granted, i've had bad experience at Wellsley before too. Also for BHR parts, best place would be to talk to Ray himself. Just shoot him a PM and he'll get you going ASAP. he's pretty easy to deal with.

Vlaze, don't see a stop to that anytime soon. Well, I'm going to have to completely agree with you guys Mazda Wellesley sucks. Mike the service tech completely blew off everthing I told him. I said I need a vaccuum check. Well they flashed the pcm, now the only thing that has changed is I have to crank two or three more seconds to get her to start. I assume I'll be flooding and stalling in no time. I am definately not going back there! Did not address the heater/ac fluctuating, as if I never mentioned it. Took them three hours to flash my pcm basically, and it only made the engine run worse. WTF. I just got a really bad feeling from them. The service manager seemed annoyed that I was concerned about my engine. From reading these forums it seems I knew more about any TSB's on this car than he did! I guess I'm really going to have to try Wakefield and see what they do. Kind of a drive but,....that's why I bought an 8.

The engine needs to re 'learn' after each flash...

it will run better the more you drive it..

as for the AC/Heater Fix, theres a DIY on these boards.. it literally takes 10 mins and if you can solder its free...

EDIT: i drive from Worc to Wakefield for all my service because they rock so much...

MA

Just bought a spankin new '10 R3 in blue - I've been tooling around Newton & Southborough (home and work) and I've only spotted one fellow rotary dude - another guy at my job owns a black Series I manual, but I haven't figured out who!

Surprised I haven't seen anyone besides him. I've got my eyes peeled.

Haha Yeah, I was thinking white myself. Thanks E.M.S and Zelse for the feed back. The only thing is i think the 05 is a touring model and the gray 06 is a GT. Check 'Em out!

bah.. white is fully loaded. you can tell by the appearence package and all, and it has a sunroof visor protector thing. I personally wish I went for the base model manual.. would've saved me so much weight and hassle in the long run.

twisty, just make sure when you go to 128 Liberty Mazda in Wakefield, to ask for Tom in service only. Call him up first and just tell him you wanna go down and like I said, speak to Tom ONLY and be sure to tell him "Marc with the black RX8 sent me"
he'll take care of you like a king. Promise.

Zelse, I certainly will! Thanks for the advice. I'm going to look up the heater/ac diy too. No problem gettting my own hands dirty, to save a buck. Now I need the xenon HID toubleshooting DIY. My low beam makes a buzz when I turn it on, no light though. Highs work. Dealership just said $1300, new headlight. I think it may either be just a short somewhere or I need a new ballast. Anyone ever got that one or two second buzz when they turn on the lights, I know....wrong forum. Love you guys, I'm gonna help you too one day, watch.

Sounds like a bad ballast to me...

which is tricky since they are molded into the headlight assembily...

i would pick up a new headlight here from someones part out

veraka motors is where i got my 2005 rx8. if you go with them they are very good with customer service. i looked into them as a dealer thoroughly before i bought from them and they came very highly recomended and even offered to take the car back and have another look through it when i did encounter a problem that was unrelated to warrenty work, i figured it out. they stand behind their name. anyway. if you bought from them you would be getting one with less miles and only alittle bit more than i paid. but i LOVE WHITE!!!!!
