Sounds good Mike, I'll be PMing you back. I should be around tonight too if you want to stop by and shoot some rotor talk. I'll PM you details.
As for everyone else, we totally should do a nice small meet. Maybe a get together somewhere central, cruise back roads to burlington or something and get some grub there, or hit up Natick. Just local, and relax. :D

Was it you that I beeped at near Sullivan Sq in Somerville? I typically drive around the same places as you. Strange that we haven't bumped into eachother. Lately, I've been getting about 150-160 miles per 12-13 gallons causing me to drive a little less. It's not all bad, since it stays the same whether I drive like a grandma or like a bat outta hell. Guess which I prefer
Do you remember when that was? My car is ti gray. What's yours?
I'm getting probably 13 or 14 mpg, mostly city driving. My car's a daily driver, so I can't really help it, either. I do get on it if the traffic is light and there's no cop in sight. But that only lasts a few minutes at most--as long as I get it past 5K rpm to blow out carbon deposits. There are just too many Staties around here to drive fast all the time.
Anyway, we need a Boston meet soon.

You need to push it higher than 5000rpm's, bassy. Red line that ****. It's not going to hurt the engine. If not, you definitely need to get it up past 7000 or so to open up all the valves.

I have an 04 BB GT. I think it was a couple days ago. You(or someone else) were turning left to go towards Sullivan Sq and I turned right beeping as I drove by.
I thought all the ports opened at 5500 RPM? Someone should make a mod to keep all ports open at all time. I wonder what would happen other then 9 mpg lol.

I drive all over the place, so I don't really remember. If it was me, I probably didn't see you then...
Yeah, I remember reading that all ports open at 5K rpm or something like that.
And Guy Hollywood, I do redline it at least once a day. But the routes that I take are infested with cops and staties. So I gotta behave and try not to have fun all the time.

All valves are open by 7250, per the ubiquitous 2003 Presskit.
A must see if you haven't, http://images.rotarynews.com/docs/NA...essKit_pdf.zip.
The Variable Valve timing chart is attached.
One builder I spoke with, told the story of a female driver who worked one mile from her home. She never revved. Her motor was toast at 20K miles. The rotary needs to breath deep to stay clean, or she dies early. On the track, folks run in the low 9s (just under rear rotor fuel cut off) for hours. You can't over rev a rotary was my take away. This took awhile to sink in for me as it is very counter to piston bred think. Personally I hit the buzzer at least once on every drive...just by holding down that right peddle a tad longer.

I would love to do something when I get the car back. Anyone in for something next sunday. Say breakfast somewhere then a cruise or a little cruise ending with lunch?
I've had the rental just as long as I've had my car so I figure in another couple of days I'm going to need to join the Ford Edge meassage board.

I gotta say, I'm a big fan of the 2009 refresh
I was *this*close to buying a used e46 m3, and set up a time to test drive one over in Shrewsbury. I called the guy day-of, and he didnt get back to me. I didnt want to waste the day in westborough, so I went off to test drive an rx8 and convince myself I didn't want one. I bought one a week later
fwiw I have a 2009 Velocity Red GT (with a MT obv) and live over in Arlington
