Hey lightning92, there's a CDC autocross this Saturday in Frederick, my brother, a friend and I will all be piloting my 8 there. Swing by if you want to have a go or a ride along with one of us. We'll be at Harry Grove stadium, the minor league ballpark there starting around 9am and finishing up around 3-4pm. We'd be happy to see you there.

 

Yea I know a couple people who have done that event up there at keys stadium. It sounds like it would be a great time and i wish i could finally make it to one of those, but unfortunately i have to work that day man. hopefully next time i will be able to make it

ive seen 2 lightning yellows in my area so far not sure if it was you though, but i live in and around the towson area and occasionally drive to washington dc area/bay bridge area

@benben. Are those Volk G2s? Very nice choice. If i still had my BB 8 thats exactly what I would be putting on there (18*9.5 square, matt black).

Everybody, I have a gutted OE mid-pipe (for $20 or for free w/ pickup from my garage in Clarksburg), and a set of fender strakes that were re-painted gloss black (not the best paint job) for a fair price, not sure about price yet. I'm about to list the strakes in the FS thread, but the mid-pipe is going to the scrap yard if no one wants it.

yea i actually live in Mt. Airy, but am hardly ever there haha. I used to go to DC and Annapolis a lot, and do go to baltimore a decent amount so one of them might have been me. I've only seen one other lightning yellow and it was one time in Mt. Airy. but it was a kid driving and some of the the parts were the unpainted black

 

@mcain.. Those are indeed Volk G2s, but the Type-2s with a lip. Mine are stagged 19x8.5 running 24/35 and 19x10.5 running 275/30. You prolly see me carving up the backroads on Rt, 121, 109 and 28 on the weekends.

@lightning92.. My R3 sits just a tad bit over 4" off the ground so 355 and 270 is where you will see me most of the time

 

Would anyone happen to have Tein spanner wrenches that I could use? I'll pay...

Yeah about every two weeks during what i call the 'frederick seasons' at the beginning and end of the year. The schedule from 2012 is here:

As you can see there's plenty of Frederick in the beginning and the end of the year.

I just ordered a long awaited set of Z1 star specs to compete with next year, I can't wait!

 

Hey everyone haven't been on in a bit due to being crazy busy with school and getting married and all that horse crap. Anyway wanted to say I saw a beautiful black 8 today around 2 as I was leaving UB law and was wondering if it was anyone on here. It was black with black stick rims and red lugs, pads and M symbol on the wheels. Really beautiful ride and obviously not formerly owned by some 18 year old punk. I'm still finding problems with mine.

 

any1 specialized with some clutch work

 

i flooded my engine in my 2004 and when i finally got it started i found out my clutch wasa no good. i can barely get it started. and when it does. seems pretty fine for the most part i have a small misfire. but when i press the clutch in when in neutral, sounds real nasty like something is spinning. i could smell some burning the night it went out. but im still learning about my 8. 134k on it. not sure if the clutch has ever been replaced. i got the car from minnesota, and when i got it. the tires were bald.

Anybody want a set of (slightly) used ceramic brake pads? be aware that while they will not dirty up your beautiful wheels, they are right and well **** when it comes to any sort of performance driving. Willing to trade for pads made of chewing gum or cardboard for their dramatically superior stopping power.
